Jeff Hafley and Matt Nagy to be brought in for 2nd interviews

  3. I’m just bracing myself for the inevitable Nagy hire. As soon as he was announced as a candidate, it was such an obvious Titans move.

  4. I think Saleh will sneak in too. Not sure about McDaniel since he’s yet to be announced and he’s already had an interview.

  5. Just hire them all. McCarthy HC, Nagy OC, Hafley DC, retain Bones and Stocker. Hafley just HC ready yet, Nagy needs a new spot to learn more and develop into another HC candidate, McCarthy is a steady successful guy with plenty of experience to help develop players and coaches. Bones is one of the best ST coaches in the league and worked with McCarthy.

    At this point I just don’t see how Stefanski ends up being a better fit here than other teams he’s interviewing with.

  7. So to recap, we have Hafley, Nagy, and hopefully Stefanski. I really hope we add McDaniel to the list, but looking like it might not happen. Just going to have to trust Borgonzi and company on the hire.

  8. Hafley being the only first time NFL head coach they are bringing in for a second interview speaks volumes for him.

    So as of right now 2nd interviews are

    1. McCarthy

    2. Hafley

    3. Nagy

    4. Possibly Stefanski?

    Am I missing any others?

  11. They said they were only bringing in 3-4 guys for the second round, so it sounds like it must be McCarthy, Stefanski, Nagy and Hafley.

    I guess that means stefanski or bust. I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

  23. I am perfectly happy with all of the finalists so far, but Nagys tough man. Borgonzi isnt stupid, he knows what the fan reaction would be. It would be a really tough sell, and personally my excitement for team would take a massive hit.

  25. Really my primary fear right now is that Borgonzi is that dude as a GM but is piss poor at evaluating a coach and hires his buddy, thus dooming us from having a good GM long-term when he inevitably has to go with him because he hired him

  31. Nagy might be a fine coach, and could absolutely work out. But he’s not in my top candidates. And I’ll be out on him and the owners/FO till it proves that it’s a good hire and fit.
