Team Sweden has had a lot of injuries could see Holmstrom get added to the roster but either way it’s better for all these guys to have a 2 week break to be rested and ready for the final stretch.
This is great. You want to be in that sweet spot of really good but not national team worthy so you can recover. Deep playoff runs last up to two months. The boys will benefit from the rest.
That said – wishing the best to Bo and hope he doesn’t get hurt.
I am glad we don’t have anyone else, couldn’t give shit about the Olympics anyway. Just reminds me of Tavares getting hurt when he went.
Not too many European players + Russia being banned
Perfect! Low injury risk and lots of rest for the Isles.

It’s a catch 22.
I’m so happy for players to get to represent their nations.
But I’m also so happy for our players to get time off.
I know some of you think this is a good thing because it gives our players a chance to rest up, but honestly, this makes me disappointed as a hockey fan. We’ve waited 12 years for this, only having one representative, who now may not even make it, and will likely be a fourth liner if he does, almost makes me feel bad about the team. I wish we had more guys.

In fact sending Bo Horvat is giving my anxiety.
I hope Horvat stays home! He’s missed a lot of time this season already! I’m thrilled Schaefer is staying home, he’s a little beaten up & the rest will do him good!
And, ordinarily I like the international play. But, we are having a nice season, but we are thin.
We need a healthy team & Sorokin playing his best, and, we can dream big. But we need all the big parts heathy and contributing.
They are playing on a small rink in Milan and that’s a little scary.
I still remember JT getting hurt & the Mets season destroyed when their closer, Diaz blew out his knee while celebrating only a few days before the season opener……
I hope we play Florida shortly after this break while all their players are gassed and jet lagged.
Not surprising given the dearth of talent on the roster.
It should be 1 1/2 because Brock will always be an Islander to me, spiritually
