As a Royals fan, I love what the Dodgers are doing. It’s not their fault the league has a bunch of “poor” owners not wanting to spend money on their team. There is no reason any team should have a payroll under $100 million. If the league is going to have a salary cap then they need to force a minimum floor as well to bridge the gap.
The Dodgers saved baseball because we made it exiting and worth watching. You're welcome. GO DODGERS!
That’s why the dodgers are doing it now because there getting ahead of the game signing younger players. They already knew the lockout was coming that’s why there spending now. The lockout was going to happen regardless
sure, put in the SC….LA already has these deals, MLB will never force them to be under the "new" SC. So MLB will grandfather LA, NY, etc…..so does it even really matter since it will be 20 years before differed money is gone?
All of the MLB Owners can do what the Dodgers are doing. They can use deferred money to their advantage. But instead they want to be cheap and take some of the competitive tax and revenue for themselves and don’t do anything for the fans such as sign star players. The Dodgers are showing the rest of the owners how to spend money smartly.

I’m a Padres fan. I don’t blame the Dodgers. In fact the Dodgers are doing us a favor by finally forcing MLB owners to spend money on star players to compete. They invest more money on the stadium upgrades and marketing than they do on players.
