  1. Guys you gotta put people's names on the screen, especially when they're not regulars. Never seen the woman who spoke but she was fantastic in this segment. Her perspective was on point.

  2. Aside from HR I think the players acquired are an improvement overall to what we have moved on from. I'm starting to look forward to spring. Now if we can get Skubal or at least a top 3 starter before pitchers reporting to camp I will be excited too. We can always test out prospects in the OF and if no one shines we can always trade for an OF before the deadline. But Trevor May is right when he says the new IF needs to get in a lot of practice together and the WBC will limit that unfortunately. So they might not look as good early. But pitching additions could help with that.

  3. Great move Bichette definitely helps that Mets lineup with his power and contact ability. plus he gets extra base hits. the defense I'm not worried about because the bat makes up for it. Bellinger to me would cap the Mets off-season. his bat and versatility can help a lot.

  4. It doesn't make sense to say you're trying to be a better defensive team but have players out of position. hopefully the Mets get the starting pitching they need because that was a problem last yr.

  5. Going against their plan shows they don't know what their doing. Last yr historical bad off-season & trade deadline substantiates my claim.

  6. As a Mets fan, this frustrates me even more than they didn't keep Pete. Imagine the lineup with Lindor, Soto, Bichette, Alonzo, Semien and then their young players of Vientos, Batty, Mauricio and Alvarez. Now you can put all you resources in building the rotation.

  7. stearns preached “run prevention” this offseason, yet here we are with two guys (below average defenders to begin with) in the infield who have never played their new positions… you know what helps run prevention? pitching. and the mets don’t have any. this is a 90 loss team.

  8. CAN WE PUT SOTO 3rd IN THE LINEUP ?! He’s been telling the organization that he feels best at 3rd and we keep putting him behind Lindor. I just don’t think they mesh well enough to be back to back in the line up. Put Bo 2nd, Soto 3rd.

  9. Mets need to get pitching so that the defense is not on their toes all the time. Do they still go after Cody Bellinger? Possibly, but they need to focus on getting two good arms in that rotation. I would give Carson Benge a shot at LF on opening day. I do not love Tyrone Taylor in CF, but that may have to happen if another OF is not acquired. The market dictates the GM's moves, not vice versa. Offensively, Bo is the perfect fit, but defensively, only time will tell due to his inexperience at third base.

  10. Last season (and others) Alonso was dead last among all MLB 1B in Outs Above Average and Defensive Runs Saved. I have full confidence that Polanco, Baty or whoever they put there can rise above that extremely low bar Alonso set there.

  11. Remember this offseason's priority was "run prevention" which is why Stearns is playing three fielders out of position and has not improved the pitching staff…

  12. Looking at that projected lineup does not make sense to me. Why won't Brichette be the DH because he has a questionable arm for third, questionable defense ability?
And Baty is strong when it comes to defense.
