Do I need to write 50 paragraphs? No. Give Tiago Splitter a contract now. What are we doing? Now.

Zero contracts will happen until Dundon takes over officially. Just hope he gives Splitter a fair shot.
I don’t know how you could look at the context surrounding this team’s season and think they’ve done anything but overachieve. Portland’s record through this amount of games is pretty much what most people likely thought was the best case scenario, and that was when fully healthy which they haven’t been anywhere near all season. Hopefully the incoming ownership group will be able to see that.
Winning is winning. They just have to keep winning, and make it to the playoffs. But I hope he’s extended regardless.
While I love how the team has looked. I’d rather be patient on that, there’s still been some glaring problems at end of games. Especially on inbounds plays, all that being said he has done a fantastic job so far this year. Lots of injuries, no real PG for what, 2 months? Has still done a good job coaching, and somehow the Blazers are 1 game under .500. I dont think most people had them here at this point in the year in the best case scenario. So I love it, and hope he gets his fair shot when they start searching for an official Head Coach
I’m willing to sign a new, lower contract in order to free up space for this to happen.
One doesn’t have to look far… across town in fact… to see the Thorns who fired their coach, placed an assistant (Rob Gale) in the interim role and experienced some quick success. Then they rushed to give him the job. The team floundered but still overachieved and made the playoffs. They lost out quickly and ultimately Gale was fired. After he was fired it all came out in the wash that the players didn’t like him much.
Don’t rush to do anything more than the minimum with Splitter. Make him apply for the job just like anyone else would have to.
It really depends on how they finish the season, but I really hope they give not only a fair look at Splitter but at every potential candidate as well. What the team has accomplished given their health under his coaching is great but is it sustainable?
Listen, Portland might not thank me but get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he’s done since he’s come in. Master Splitter’s at the wheel, man. He’s doing it.
Not gonna happen, Dame will handpick the next coach
My wife says he looks like the slug from monsters inc because he’s always frowning, this is the only time I’ve seen him smile
Can they even give him a contract with the Billups situation still technically unresolved? Like we know he’s not gonna be retained, but can you hire a 2nd head coach while still having the first one not actually being fired yet?
He should be COTY imo.
Hell no
I wonder how any of that work?
Probably won’t happen until the off season. There is no rush since Splitter already has a contract with the Blazers.
We need a real coaching search
I’ve been pleased with the coaching improvements this year, but honestly I can’t say if that’s because of how great splitter is or how bad billups was. Just nice to have an actual coach again, decent good or great I don’t know
