Except:
Despite having limited NFL coaching experience, Hafley has been coaching football since 2001. The 46-year-old started as the running backs coach with Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Despite starting as an offensive coach, his collegiate coaching career would shift to defensively for the next decade with Albany, Pittsburgh and Rutgers. He got his reps as a defensive back coach with all the three programs, which gave him his first professional job opportunity with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He remained in the NFL for the next seven season across three teams as a defensive backs coach. Hafley would return to college in 2019 as Ohio State’s defensive coordinator before leaving the following season for his first head coaching job with Boston College. Hafley went 22-26 in college before Packers head coach Matt LaFleur offered him the defensive coordinator job.

Yes let’s hire the coach that allowed an 18 point comeback in the 4th😴
Swear to god if we hire this schmuck…

Whyyyy
For the record, the Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders also asked for second interviews with him.
Better than Arthur Smith, probably?
Nah he’s going to Miami. The cardinals wanted to do a 2nd interview but I don’t think he’s going to take it.
Rumors are that he’s already the favorite for the Miami job. I don’t have a lot of faith we’ll even get far enough for him to consider us.
No defensive coaches.
Thank you.

No
I’d rather have VJ over him
So Hafley is a finalist and Saleh probably will be a finalist this week.
The Cardinals are probably waiting on the outcomes of tomorrow’s games to see if Matt Burke or the Rams Coordinators will be available so I’m rooting for New England to beat Houston and Chicago to beat LA. If not I can see them pivoting to Jesse Minter as a finalist and I’d like those finalists if it was between **Saleh, Hafley, and Minter.**
I’m also glad Denver won because Bidwill would have called Vance Joseph right after that game and probably would have hired him on Monday, also I hope Arthur Smith or Matt Nagy aren’t finalists.

Based on who else is having a second interview, the Titans, Dolphins, and Cardinals. I’m guessing he’s the back up guy.
The Ravens have a 2 time MVP at QB, no one is outbidding them for their first choice. The Steelers don’t have a QB but with them it’s job security you could not get any where else in any sport, and no losing season in 20 years.
He’s the guy to go to if you lose your first choice. Or maybe he’s great in the room. He seems to be the favorite for the Miami job. Whose decision to fire McDaniel looks stranger everyday.
Why dont just go over to Basha High School and get their coach. They just won a State Championship. More than anything the Cardinals have done in years.

Makes sense: his defense was tore up in his last game, so he’d make a logical successor to Gannon.
