Realize it was a “down year” for tucker, but they’re really not that far off. Great pivot by the Mets

Bo is a stud, congrats!
Forgive me for not understanding the stat well, but if their ops is almost identical how is ops+ so different?
I’m interested to see Bo’s stolen base number this coming year considering Soto’s number improved massively this past year. If the coaching staff can get him honed in on that I’d be really excited considering his superior hitting numbers.
The biggest difference no is mentioning is Kyle Tucker would have been filling an essentially vacant spot on the outfield right now whereas Bo is likely going to displace Baty, who actually has almost exactly the same bWAR as Bo over the last two seasons (really you can look it up I’m not kidding)
Not cope. Bo is a hitting savant and incredibly clutch with runners on base, something the Mets severely lacked last season. Positionally, Bo isn’t a great fit at 3B but from an offensive standpoint, he’ll be an upgrade in terms of clutch hitting.
If healthy isnt Bo great?
I’ll take the batting average and rbis over the WAR
If I’m not mistaken I think defense is the big difference right? I’d imagine a shift to 3rd might help a little bit but who knows
Based
lol
Share the teachings of Antoan Richardson and we good
I fucking love Pete Alonso, Brandon Nimmo (the only player jersey I’ve ever bought), and Jeff McNeil.
But offensively, Bo/Semien/Polanco is a better trio than Pete/Nimmo/McNeil. And defensively, we traded two bad defenders for two bad defenders with upside, and traded McNeil’s general goodness for Semien’s excellence.
We’re a better team than we were last year, though we do need a third outfielder on the roster still.
Yes, considering Tucker can field. If Baty can be repositioned and if Bichette can manage to be a better 3B than SS it should be stomachable until he bats tho
It’s cope if you think Bo is as impactful as Tucker. But Bo is still a really good player and a pretty dan good consolation prize
Fine w. Bichette as a hitter but wasn’t the plan to improve the D (by bringing in Semien at 2nd) and now we have players at 1st and 3rd who have never played their positions.
Tbh I like Bichette better as a player. Always thought Tucker was a bit overrated 🤷🏻♂️
Just know Bo can’t feild worth shit, he’s a liability at short…. and they want him at third. … oi
This is valid. But go the year/years before last and its a lot different. Tucker has had better years in the past.
how is it that theres only a 1 point difference in OPS but a 14 point difference in OPS+
Today I learned .266 22 and 73 gets you 60 million a year FFS baseball needs a cap
And you got plenty of people on this sub saying Tucker is a top 5 player in the league 😂😂😂
New player’s agreement should simply say “you are paid league minimum plus a performance bonus by WAR. $8M per point of WAR, with a 5% increase every year.” Which WAR? Let them decide. I don’t care. I’m just tired of vastly overpaid and horribly underpaid players being a thing.
Ive been wondering how overrated Tucker is. Those numbers are tier 2. Im happy with Bellinger in the outfield, gold glove, gives them power and another yankee. Versatile. Id be happy with Bo, Bellinger and the rest of their moves minus Diaz.
Bichette (healthy) is going a be a star for you guys. Really gonna miss him in Toronto.
Batting .266 with 133 hits and getting a contract for 60m a year. F the dodgers.
Just imagine if Bo walked more. He’d be maybe a 430 obp
Holy ballpark factor!
Not at all. Bichette has always been exactly who we needed. Team is already SO much better and people aren’t seeing it.
If we got Bellinger too somehow I am handing over my money for tix lol. Bo is a dope pickup. I just dont understand not having a 1st baseman..? Or a LF/CF..?
Yes, but it’s important to remember that Bichette is a great player and will make this team much better. Unfortunately it’s coping because the ceiling for the squad is only the NLCS because the Dodgers will be winning another WS. It is nice to have a team worth rooting for though. Need pitching next though.
