To all these Bills fans whining about that play last night. Here’s what a bad call on a takeaway looks like

  1. I really don’t get what they are complaining about. He never had possession (and thus could not be “down by contact”). With no defender there, the ball would have popped out the same as it did when he hit the ground, and the pass would have been incomplete.

A single frame of a video does not a reception make.

  2. They keep using one frame as proof of a reception. Last I knew, having the ball for a second means nothing. He lost the ball when he hit the ground. Didn’t complete the catch. Pretty simple.

Bills fans didn’t seem to mind it earlier in the season when a similar play went in their favor.

  3. God, I hated those jerseys.

This was Hue Jackson’s like 4th or 5th game and I remember watching his reaction and just saying to myself “This guy has no fucking clue what is going on, we’re fucked”. Little did I know what an understatement that would be.

  4. Why didn’t we challenge that play? I don’t remember the game too well were we all out of challenges?

  5. I could give two shits about the interception conversation. Only McDermott, Brady, and Josh really know how much was on him. Here are the three things I know…

    1) James Cook should have been ridden like the horse that he is. Dude is HIM.

    2) Brandin Cooks was open several times during that game where Josh just missed him or he was too deep in the progression (I counted 3 missed deep balls and 2 more that would have been 20+)

    3) Plain and simple. Josh doesn’t hold the ball out from his body on his own 30 with less than 20 seconds left and they win the game. That fumble, not the interception, is a direct blame moment that cost real points.

  6. That call was so bad I wouldn’t have been surprised if the ref just said

and the called would have stood

What Browns fans say to every NFL fan when they complain about their team.
