I want to start this by saying I don't think this is going to happen, but value wise how far off are we from this being a fair deal?

At the moment the talk around an AD return is often Kuminga or Barrett but is there a chance we could take a swing for both of them?

Why for the Mavs (willing to accept we maybe don't get CMB and can get Agbaji instead) – we take a swing on two young players to fit Coop's timeline and hope at least one of them gel really well and stick to our young core for the future. It also gives us a lot of lineup flexibility. If Kidd wants to run some stretches of Coop at PG we would still have a lineup of Coop, Christie, Barrett, Kuminga and Lively/Gaff/Cisse. Although there's still some shooting concerns Kuminga and Barrett can playmake/get their own bucket which is a rare commodity with our current squad. Plus we can add Kyrie (or Philon in the future if we get him in the draft) to this lineup to help with that, potentially Kuminga can adapt to a 6 man role where he can express himself more and get shots up with our 2nd unit.

Why for the Raptors – they take a swing in a weak Eastern conference and it's always a massive if with AD but a lineup of Quickley, Dick, Barnes, Ingram and AD sounds quite intriguing and at least gives them a chance to have a go (* again as we know massive if with AD but Raptors also have done decently managing Ingram's injuries)

Why for the Warriors – They need a center and I feel Jakob is a high IQ warriors type of player. Not a ground breaking move for them but a solid player who could give them really good minutes (GSW might need a first in this deal to take on his contract though?), and they also add Naji who is a massive boost to any team he goes on. He could be absolutely deadly in the Draymond role, setting screens for Steph and then receiving the ball when Steph gets doubled and playing 4 on 3. Automatic bucket in the paint or his a willing passer and can get others involved.

*Again don't think this will happen but how far off do you think this is from being fair value and would you go for it?

  1. If packaging Naji is the only way to get rid of AD I’d rather let wait out AD’s contract. I know he’s not on Coops timeline but for me Naji is as untradable as Kyrie. As in, it better be top tier offering…not the Kum-stain

  2. You can’t be serious. Brandon & Naji have become such really good players for the Mavs.

  3. I don’t hate it. I hear great things about CMB, but we need draft capital. RJ is another underachiever. Has the tools but can’t put them together

  4. A rare trade where everyone says no, raptors give up too much for AD, Mavs don’t want kuminga and warriors need someone healthier than poeltl.

    Well done

  5. bro wtf. if we get no draft capital, we might as well hold on to AD. the way naji been playing since the trade should at least fetch 1FRP in 2026. probably a 2027 lotto FRP.

this is garbage. why tf would we pay for kuminga. hell nah.

  6. Kuminga is such a bad move. We have our PF of the future already. Kuminga sees himself as a star, with star minutes and shots. Now maybe maybe in the right situation, there is a possibility he does produce at star level. But we don’t need this gamble, because it would actually hamper Cooper. So the Warriors part of this a no from me and loosing Naji for Kuminga makes it even worse.

CMB on the other hand could work really well and sure I would take on RJ to get CMB. But Poeltl’s contract and availability is really nasty. No expiring means no flexibility and 2nd apron. Overall I don’t see a trade with the Raptors unless there is another team to provide at least 20M in expiring salaries.
