(Easton Freeze) Robert Saleh’s zoom interview today was canceled, rescheduled for tomorrow in-person. The search committee felt good about their research on him.So Saleh is officially a finalist without a second interview.

    our new awesome GM is tying himself to robert saleh and whatever OC he can bring and Matt Nagy.

    And there were so many better options.

  4. It definitely feels promising if you’re part of the Saleh train that he’s made the finalist list without an interview yet. Of the three finalists, he’s easily my favorite as long as he gets a half decent OC.

  7. This means either Nagy is going to be HC or this is going to be am arranged marriage of Saleh as the HC and Nagy as the OC. 

  8. Seems like Saleh was the obvious favorite. I’m almost certain we get a Saleh HC with Daboll/Nagy/McDaniel OC pairing.

    Saleh fits basically everything the Titans have looked for, and if you connect the dots, they seem to have been waiting until he was available for an interview all this time. He’s probably already hired by now if the 49ers would’ve lost in the wildcard

  10. FWIW He’s Justin Melo’s from Music City Audible’s top candidate (I know everybody’s got their favorites) but IMO Justin’s the best titans podcaster (and he was probably right we shouldn’t have canned vrabel)

  18. There is no world in which any of these guys are exciting. If even say Nagy and Saleh are absolutely terrible hires. There is also an incredibly slim chance Nagy/Mcdaniel come here to be OC. Titans gonna Titan.

  19. I’m part of the camp that would love saleh as HC and McDaniels as OC. BUT, I also want continuity for Cam, and McDaniels will undoubtedly get a HC job next cycle if things go well next season. I would prefer an OC that will be around a few years- 4 play callers in Cam’s third season is approaching Mariota levels

  20. Sorry how does that make him officially a finalist just because he’s getting an in-person interview? The way Easton has worded it isn’t that he’s heard he is a finalist, he’s saying because of the change that makes him officially a finalist.

  23. Biggest W for Saleh is you can see he’s capable of the CEO style leadership and can still help handle the defense, and he’s fairly young.

    But I think the fact he’d have some solid access to Shanahan tree folks for his OC counterpart is such a massive plus over everyone else.

    I can’t say Nagy or McCarthy could find a lights out guy on the other side of their ball of their expertise quite like that.

    Plus the guy was coach of the Jets who basically torched him every chance they got lol

  24. I love Saleh, Jets quit on him too soon, and we already have our QB. I think he’s an awesome coach, hopefully we lock him up tomorrow.
