20 min in medical tent evaluated for concussion and not at his locker after the game. He obviously wasn’t right. Can we give the guy who gave us one of the best moments in Bears history some grace for one bad play?

Anybody saying he’s been showing lack of effort all year is exposing themselves as a meat ball who doesn’t actually know ball or watch the games. After about week 3 or 4 DJ’s effort and dedication were never in question.
It was a bad throw by Caleb. DJ was never going to be at that spot regardless.
Unfortunate end to a great season, wish people could leave it at that.
Look, it wasn’t a good look for DJ, especially knowing that he runs poor routes and gives less than 100% on some of his routes when he isn’t the primary read.
Yet, he was also responsible for two of greatest catches in Bears history and I’ll remember him for that until I die. Personally, I think he would be better off in a system that will take advantage of his skill sets. Ben’s offense isn’t the best fit for him and this breakup doesn’t need to be ugly. Both the Bears and DJ can amicably go their separate ways and still look back on this great season years down the road.
It was a bad play, it happens. It’s a shame it happened at the time it did.
Great season, no matter how hard I try I just can’t be upset. After years of this team losing in the stupidest ways possible I’m glad we put together a season with thrills and excitement. I’ll never forget watching us come back from 21-3.
He caught two game winners before this game and also a TD in this one..and made that one arm catch as well in this game. Dude takes a pounding. I am good with DJ.
The game is many plays with many people. You can’t just choose one of the last and blame that person. He’s one of the reasons that we were able to have a game last night. Think that one through.
Agreed. DJ’s not blameless, but I’m not piling it all on him
Ok that’s a fair point.
There were a lot of mistakes made. Lots of drops. Rome dropped a td that wasn’t a super difficult catch. Burden dropped a pass or two. Loveland dropped a few tough catches. I’m very thankful for an extremely exciting, fun season. Couldn’t be prouder to be a bears fan. At the start of the year I was hoping for 9-8 with at least one win over the Packers. New coach, new system. Things are looking up for the Bears. We have the best qb we’ve ever had and a coach that brings toughness, creativity, and passion to the locker room. I love DJ. He’s a baller. Hope he’s here next year, but I doubt he will be.
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Miscommunications happen and it just sucked this had to be one of those times but if he was concussed and still went out there to try and win the game I’m absolutely not saying a single disrespectful thing about DJ Moore
Caleb said post game they had a miscommunication.
DJ was going vertical while Caleb thought he was going to break in.
Simple as that. We don’t need to throw DJ under the bus because these things happen.
Thank you for this, it’s ridiculous how a guy who literally tries at all costs to constantly be in the game gets constantly evaluated for body language showing a lack of effort.
It was a weird moment. But I don’t dispute the miscommunication thing Caleb mentioned. It happens. Just incredibly unfortunate timing.
But weren’t it for him, bears wouldn’t even be playing in the divisional round.
I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Specially because we all know he’s been playing hurt for a while now.
I will give him grace. It was an unfortunate play and not the outcome any of us was hoping for but this team overall gave me a fun season of being a Bears fan. Instead of recent years of seeing how high the draft pick will be, they took me on a magical year that I don’t believe any of us saw coming. Thanks to the players and coaches. Best of luck to all in the offseason. This last season will go a long way in the team’s overall development.
My issue is him stopping his routes is a habitual.
If you watch the film it happens multiple times a game since before he was a bear.
If it was just since this game, grace is 100% warranted.
It’s not just this game or just this season.
Then whoever cleared him to go back in needs to be fired. There were two plays back to back where he got hit in the head, and they cleared him to go back in and he didn’t know what was going on, that’s a bigger deal than the loss.
Ben left six points on the table.
Yeah people switched up so quick on DJ. Just last week this sub had DJ apology posts and now it’s back to hate. Fans are so fickle.
DJ could have dogged it on the play Odunze dropped a game winning TD but it still wouldn’t have mattered.
We got it too good this year and all the meatballs are out now
DJ Moore is 10x better than Rome
DJ was the only receiver to play every game this year with Rome out for an extended period and Luther missing time. He’s taken some nasty hits this year and gets back in everytime. I would like to see him back next year.
I’ve seen people say we’re trading him, no way are we doing that. He’s been reliable for us this year.
This is more on coach for not kicking a field goal earlier in the game.
I think we just need to be more conservative on our drives regarding 4th downs until our offense becomes more consistent and Caleb’s accuracy/completion percentage improves (which it definitely will). For now we should just take the points.
You’re right, totally forgot he was at the tent.
Yes. Lay off.
Probably concussed and they were not on the same page.
Bro has had a TD when it mattered most so much. He looks like he gets murdered every game. Just one play bad luck. I ride with DJ
DJ was clutch down the stretch, earning 2 game balls. He does a lot of “dirty work” running the ball and acting like a running back on quick screens and the like. After he was checked out for a concussion, he was tackled on another play and landed on his head.
I hope he is still on the team next year. It is a long season and WRs go down. He played great when Rome was out.
This was the most enjoyable season, for me, since ’85.
Watching the all-22 of every game this season. . DJ gotta be one of the hardest people to throw the ball to. You consistently see effort issues all season. I remember one TD run you have 10 guys pushing Monongai into the endzone and DJ is just standing there next to the pile doing nothing
Agreed. But then again, what would Reddit be without a bunch of fat slobby overreacting keyboard warriors who think they know ball cuz they played 4th string JV football as a freshman?
Fans are fickle. DJ knows who he is..! If he didn’t go back in this game was over first half
Whoever wants to trade him probably had a few concussions themselves.
We don’t get here without DJ. Period.
At the end of the day, across the entire season, he clutched up when we needed him to. As much as I would like to keep him on the roster next year, I don’t think that they will. We can get a decent haul for him if he goes to a desperate enough team. I could see him going to Buffalo, the Raiders, or even Houston with the uncertainty at the wide receiver position that they had this year. I give him his flowers and I think he had a great season despite him having lower numbers like I said, I would like to keep him, but on the off chance we don’t I appreciate what he has done for us in his tenure with Chicago.
Seriously- anyone that is questioning his effort and toughness is being ridiculous. I was so happy for him during this game because he has had a great career but never had the opportunity for these kind of games and was already set to have an amazing game today.
Disappointed at the loss, not discouraged about the future!
He made some great catches, to fault him for the loss is way too cruel. DJ is a great asset
He would be just as upset we all have bad days sometimes at the worst times but this year was just bonus so to get as far as they did was great as it is hopefully better success next season.
There were a number of dropped passes by other guys. Some potential for more points had we kicked a couple fg’s instead of going for it on 4th down. It sucks but DJ is still a dog. Tough loss but proud of the team for getting this far. 🐻⬇️
If you can’t play or aren’t right to play (because of injury), you can’t be on the field because you will hurt your team.
People are so soft. Why do people feel the need to make post about players defending them? It’s football.
It was the wrong play in the first place. DJ stopped running. Flat out. Finish the play. It wouldn’t have been a catch but it probably wouldn’t have been an interception.
He was better this year in the effort department but this has still been a problem throughout his career and he decides to pull this in the most important game of the season. It’s still bullshit no matter what he did this year.
I’m more upset with Ben being allergic to kicking field goals in the first half

So talented but such a lazy player
