What are you talking about, RE: Bauer?
1. There is ZERO question about guilt/innocence. His accuser was a proven liar. Her texts and selfie-videos PROVED that the entire thing was a setup and the courts acknowledge that fact.
2. What do you mean he wasn't good anymore? He won the Cy Young the year before and had a 2.59 ERA at the time he was suspended (without cause).
3. He went on to destroy the Japanese League in 2023, and destroyed the Mexican League in 2024.
4. I've yet to hear a single fellow player say he dislikes Bauer or that he was anything but a good teammate. On the contrary, several former teammates, on various teams, have stated the opposite on record.
Who didn't like him? Rob Manfred! Bauer was clearly black-balled by the league. He offered to play for any team for league minimum and not even the worst teams in the league would give him the time of day. FAR worse players with FAR worse off-the-field issues have found employment in MLB.
So, you can say that you just don't like him personally if you want, but don't try to hide those personal feelings with lies about him not being a good pitcher, or that he was a bad teammate. The facts don't support those claims.
The reason a Peralta flip to Detroit could work is this… it gives Detroit a frontline pitcher to still compete in 2025 while giving the top prospect pitcher they receive (ie. River Ryan) an extra year to be ready to take the spot in 2027. Getting Peralta + 2 or 3 top prospects now — while maintaining your postseason chances in 2026 — is WAY better than losing Skubal for a draft pick at the end of the year.
You should think this stuff through a bit before smugly crapping on it.
Let's go LA 🔵⚪
"It's time for Dodger baseball"
3Peat inbound 🥵🥵🔥🔥 💪
If we get Freddy ooooh ehhhh 👊 ⚾ 💥
Wow you guys should have told Andrew Tucker is trash before he signed him to that record AAV
Wow! just noticed that Jeff Passan was on Kansas City Royals podcast Kauffmann Corner but refused to do Dodger Blue as Jeff had mentioned a week or 2 ago back around Spring training
In only his first two years, Ohtani wins consecutive MVP UNANIMOUSLY, breaks zillions of Dodger club records and MLB records, two World Series, two consecutive top selling sports jersey, etc etc.
He is rewriting history in almost every statistic. In JUST TWO YEARS!!
As much as I love Kershaw, his 18 year stats were not historical in terms of numbers.
I would have to give Ohtani the number one status.
Also , Blake has a point. Similar to Dan Marino. As a QB, Marino had one of the best arms in the history of NFL and led the league as the top QB for several years. However, his performance in the playoffs was mediocre. Thus Marino is never mentioned in the top QB ranking in NFL history. Kershaw was even worse than Marino in post season. While that doesn’t take anything away from all the great regular season Kershaw had, it does have some minus factor.
I still agree that the red flags are pink, but I just hope the Dodgers did their due diligence like we expect them to for this clubhouse. Because it's funny how people's responses to "he might not like baseball much" with "well he puts up good numbers" when Rendon also was putting up amazing numbers. I think people forget how good Rendon was because of how much of an a-hole he showed himself to be. At least I don't believe we have to worry about that from Tucker.
The only thing that gives me some optimism is that with a shorter contract, he does have incentive TO perform and push to get paid gain. I don't think he'll check out.
And for the Peralta bit: I don't understand why they keep pushing it. Yes, he's good, but isn't Sheehan far more valuable because of his age and control? Sheehan also might have a higher ceiling than Peralta. I don't feel like Sheehan is worse than Peralta without question. And I've seen Peralta get rocked by the Dodgers too much to really think of him as elite as you guys make him out to be.
save up for tariq
I also find it funny how some fans think "oh, I don't want this player, so we need to trade him!" I always think: well, if you don't want him, why would any one else want him? They always try to trade a guy they don't want for someone they want. It doesn't work that way. Not that they were asking for a good player in return in this case, but the "they have to do something with Rushing" super chat reminded me of those.
Would they trade Tyler G for Peralta?
Kershaw has the lowest ERA in over 100 years.
What surprised me about Tucker’s stats is the number of stolen bases he has had over the past 4 seasons: 25, 30, 11 (in just 78 games), and 25 last year in only 136 games. Amazing numbers if it is true that he has slower foot speed than Teo!!!
100% agree with blake Best pitcher in regular season i hate to say this 3 championship 1 bubble one 2 didn't even play 0 legit championshipin this era until shohei they dont get yoshi snell or any of these players.
Jeff is just weird , selfish with the amount of time he speaks
I hate to do this Its ohtani era in baseball in general also remember you got swept in 23 and have not won anything legit in kershaw era cause of him a lot of times also since he got here – 2 legit ones.
If the Dodgers were able to pull off a deal for Freddy Peralta just for the middle finger factor, he’d be there number 4ish starter. Insane.
Kershaw is easily the #1 and it's insulting that it's a debate
The Yankees reached the WS 14 times in 16 years! From 1949 – 1964.
Between 1955 and 1960 they colluded with the Kansas City A's who were referred to at the time as the "feeder team" or "major league farm team" for the Yankees, allowing New York to maintain its talent pool without depleting its own roster. During the Reserve Clause era, players were bound to one team for life so once the Yankees stole these players from their competition they retained them forever. We're talking players like Roger Maris, Ryne Duren, Ralph Terry, Hector Lopez, and Clete Boyer all in exchange for marginal players or cash. Were their consequences for BS cheating back then? OF course not, they were treated by the MLB to have been as pure as the driven snow. They clearly colluded and cheated MLB to the tune of winning 5 WS Championships in a row. The Yankees won 10 of their 27 WS Titles during this period they were f_cking over the rest of baseball!!
As a Yankee faithful, don't you EVER show up lecturing Dodger fans regarding appropriate decorum and how we're destroying baseball when you haven't even bothered to understand your own disgusting, cheating past. That includes you RICH EISEN, and you too STEPHEN A. SMITH!!!! F_CK YOU TOO!
The Dodgers aren't cheating. They're playing under the rules and nobody disputes that. So GTFOH with this nonsense.
How can Tucker ever opt out ? Unless he didn't like the organization. The Dodgers snared Tucker for 4 years by getting him to agree to the 2 opt outs after 2 seasons. At 30 he woulda retained full free agent value. At 31 years old or 32 his value drops off a cliff as a potential free agent. Plus LA is basically paying him a double AAV contract for 60 million is like two 30 million dollar contracts in one year. He's not going to want to opt out at a 60million AAV. At this point he's locked in for 4 years. His career pay will reach a couple of hairs under 300 million. At 33 years old he can still sign a 1-3 year or 4 more years to try and nab 100 million more. Or maybe 60 to 75 million more to lift his career pay to 360m or beyond that a little. There's a small risk for him but he's already got 300 million locked up. An extra 60 to 100 million he risks is inconsequential to his finances if he can control spending and compound his interest. He's a lucky guy. An eight year contract for 4 years is a party.
