The thing that really stings about the loss is that history will largely forget about one of the greatest plays in Bears history.

  1. No, I’m not going to forget that absolute mortar shot from Caleb Williams. And I won’t forget Sean McVay’s wide eyes, shocked at the outcome coupled with silence from the announcing team, either. Because it was that ridiculous.

  2. I mean not entirely it’ll be remembered the same way Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary vs the Cardinals in the wild card was remembered. Crazy play to take his team to OT but they lost in OT.

  3. Nah, that play helped make tons of Caleb fans. Hes a player a lot of casuals are starting to take notice of. That’s the good thing about the bears, even when we suck, people tune in, because of our history and market.

There’s certain teams that casuals will just never care about whatsoever (think the Jaguars or Chargers) or need an insanely good player and a stroke of luck to get them to tune into (prime cam newton panthers)

  4. And fuck all the people and media talking about “take the points”. When McVay goes for it on 4th and 1 tied 10-10 in the 4th quarter it’s a great play. Seriously, fuck them all.

  5. I’ll never forget this play win or lose. Same as I’ll never forget how I felt after Devin’s return in the SB. Sure we lost but no one can take away that moment from us as fans. You can still enjoy it.

  6. Before going to bed I said to myself “man, we’d be watching that play on constant replay if we won that game.”

Legitimately one of the craziest plays I’ve ever seen. I really don’t know how Caleb does it. This is the play of the season. Not the greatest of throws from a technical standpoint, but everything else about it is pure cinema.

I lost my fucking mind when he caught it.

I think we will still be talking about it once the sting of the L goes away.

  7. Rams fan here – that play won’t be forgotten. Neither will that amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Thank you Bears for an amazing game.

This was our last year with peak Stafford (if not last year ever). You guys have a stud for foreseeable future at QB. It’s going to be fun to watch,

  8. I’ll never forget. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen in a football field.

  9. Imagine they went for 2 and won it right there. I fully get why they didn’t. But imagine lol

  10. I promise you this will not be forgotten. This will absolutely make sportscenter top 10 throws for years. I don’t think even Patrick Mahomes could do that sh** at this point.

  11. Home town kid making what should’ve been the throw heard around the world.

    This one stings

  12. Watched the game, just the millionth comment to say that pass was insane. Shame the Bears couldn’t win the game in OT. That pass and catch would’ve been immortalized, not just a future highlight vid

  13. It won’t, it was an incredible play. I think this has been the most fun i’ve ever had watching the Bears, and my optimism for next year is through the roof.

  14. You would think that Caleb is 45 and Ben Johnson has terminal ass cancer from how the media is reacting to this loss.

Look we saw everything could want and more out of year one of BJ+Caleb. Our rookies made a huge impact on the field.

Would you trade our outlook for anyone else’s in the division?

  15. The Bulls didn’t win the championship after Jordan hit the game winner over Ehlo. Yet it’s more iconic than any other of his buzzer beaters.

  16. I think a lot of people are going to remember this play for a long time. I took a peak at the NFL sub’s game thread and it isn’t an exaggeration when I say that everyone was stunned!
