That Dansby decision looks worse, and worse, every single day
Unrelated, anyone looking for a Jorge Mateo rookie auto /25 now 😂
The last time he was an everyday starter at shortstop, coming in 2022 prior to the promotion of uber-prospect Gunnar Henderson, he also graded out as one of the league’s best defenders at +11 Fielding Run Value/+10 OAA, a 95th percentile mark.
Shouldn’t have gotten rid of my boy Nick Allen
I’m so confident i just placed a bet for Jorge Mateo to win NL ROY despite being a 5 year vet.
Cheap and a temporary replacement. That’s fine.
As an O’s fan, this guy can’t hit the broad side of a barn but he’s a legendary pinch runner.
Something something recreate him in the aggregate
For some reason these are the guys the braves sign and they turn into mvp candidates
He’ll make an amazing play followed by 2 WTF plays. But if he can find his way on base, he can be fun.
Not terrible for a desperate situation, him being fast and a good base runner can bring some extra value too
Someone please tell him to stay off the ice!
So many people shitting on this. He’s the new utility guy since Dubon got promoted. Can play every position and is expendable after the all star break.

This needed to happen. And maybe, maybe AA is not done cooking on the SS situation? Dubon is simply not an everyday shortstop. He’s played the position only 107 games in his entire career with only 33 games last year (career high).
Is it too late to get Nick Allen back? If we’re just gonna have a permanent batting hole at SS it might as well be an excellent one we can trust.
We gonna have to wear “HELLO : My Name Is ______” tags to spring training.

Thats our day 1 SS
That’s my backup backup backup shortstop
Wet fart signing
Can’t seem to hit or defend
According to savant, the only thing this guy can do is sprint the bases. He’s the worst in the league at everything else.
The only thing I know about Jorge Mateo is that he is INCREDIBLY FAST. 36th in all of baseball in Sprint Speed. But other than that…I don’t know much.
