  1. Petition to ban any “67” jokes.

We are millennials and older. Only 69 jokes are allowed. And 1738 cause Fetty is out.

  2. I’ll never forget Merryweather striking out the side to close out the yanks that one opening day game. Iirc we had Romano throwing fire in the 8th then merryweather somehow throwing even harder in the 9th lmao

  3. Speaking on behalf of the teachers of this sub, I now have a life vendetta against Merryweather for choosing that jersey number.

  4. On [April 1 2021](https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA202104010.shtml), Merryweather came into the game in the bottom of the 10th against the Yankees. The Jays were ahead 3-2 (thank you Randal Grichuk and the new zombie runner rule).

The first batter was Aaron Hicks.

    – called strike
    – called strike
    – called strike.

The second batter was Giancarlo Stanton.

    – called strike
    – called strike
    – swinging strike

The third batter was Gleyber Torres.

    – swinging strike
    – foul ball

He was now one pitch away from an immaculate inning save.

Sadly, next pitch was (clearly) a ball (blocked by the catcher). Then a foul ball, then a swinging strike to end the game.

That would be the best game of his short Jays tenure, and the only one where he’d strike out the side without allowing any base runners.

  5. I wasn’t watching baseball at the time, was Merryweather for Donaldson straight up considered an even trade?

  6. Ah, Buddy Boshers, before John Schneider he was the blue jay with the reddest face ever seen

  7. I like how most of the players in the countdown this year have been little known or players who weren’t here for long.

  8. No more 6-7 meme!

Don’t need to re-traumatize us Leafs fans with the constant reminder of the last time we won the Stanley Cup!

Yes, I know that there are many fans of other Canadian NHL teams here.
