I think he'd be silly not to got to Buffalo, but still, maybe he really really doesn't like the cold.

  1. As an OC I love it, as an eventual HC I don’t believe in him. There were too many moments as a HC where he just wilted under pressure. That’s a bridge to cross when we get there, would be a solid hire on paper.

  2. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think these reports are from before the opening in Buffalo. That said I’m playing the Bills go for a defensive guy or just promote Joe Brady internally. I think we can get McDaniel otherwise so fingers crossed!

  3. I think he wants to fresh start and seeing how our old OC get treated, maybe he wants to come here and show out.

  4. I mean bills used to smoke his team twice a year, I would think bills wouldn’t look to him to be their head coach

  5. Bills or Ravens HC job is easily better than attaching yourself to Bowles. He’d be crazy, but I’d love for it to happen.

  6. If we could get McDaniel that would really soften the blow of keeping Bowles for me. I’ve loved McDaniel and wanted him since he was in San Fran. He is just such a good offensive mind.

  7. I’ll believe it when I see it. My trust in this organization right now to make a move like this is pretty low.

  8. All signs point to the Bills wanting to retain Joe Brady and offensive continuity. Therefore, it wouldn’t make sense to hire McDaniel. In all likelihood the Bills will go with a defensive minded HC or a “CEO” style HC.

Full disclosure, I’m a biased Bucs fans and really would like McDaniel to come to this team lol

  9. Shame there’s all those fans who won’t be able to watch because Bowles is still coach. At least based off all the comments in here.

  10. I am less expert than everyone here, but I feel like he’d be a good fit right now. Would absolutely love to hear Mayfield’s opinion.

  11. I wonder if Mcdaniel would turn down the Bills because of the immediate pressure of trying to win a superbowl in the first year. If he accepts thst job, its a make or break for him. Yeah he can cook up things for the Bills but again, theres immense pressure to get a SB instantly.

From what Ive gathered from rumors and speculation, theres this vague belief where Mcdaniel wants to sit and chill as an OC while he gathers his bearings to be accept a future HC job. By being in Tampa, he can sit and chill as our OC for a year, make a playoff run, come up short cause our defense is still horrendous, but then take over when Bowles gets fired. This gives Mcdaniel time to get familiar with the team and the organization and be the Heir to Tampa bay

  12. Listening to NFL insiders has led to a lot of heartbreak in my life and yet I can’t deny that pang of excitement in my heart

  13. i actually believe after the promotion of their GM and the roster issues Buffalo has dealt with over the years, it would probably be in his best interest to not go to Buffalo.

If Mike wanted to get a new head coaching opportunity(some of the vacant openings are pretty tantalizing), he has to show that he can improve the Bucs offense by at least two fold(it shouldn’t be hard proving Grizzard was incompetent).

Yes, the Ravens & Bills have MVP QBs but they really don’t have much else going for them outside of that.  James Cook is good but I somehow disbelieve that he is someone Mike would want to work with when he is coming off Achane.

I think the Bucs OC job is pretty desirable with all the tangibles but i DO BELIEVE the HC job isn’t as coveted as the other openings if that somehow makes sense.

  14. Better have the balls to tell Bowles to shut the fuck up with his conservative play call bullshit. There is a reason the last 3 started out strong, then left for greener pastures.

  15. I said if they didn’t fire bowles I’d skip next season… if they bring in McDaniels as OC, Ill just have to take that back… I’m ready to be hurt again.
