Sean McDermott WORTH THE RISK for Tennessee Titans & Matt Nagy vs. Robert Saleh Tale of the Tape

The Tennessee Titans could have gotten incredibly lucky as the Buffalo Bills fired head coach Sean McDermott on Monday. McDermott would be a homerun hire for the Titans and could save them from the floundering position they are currently in. The Titans would be taking a major risk by going after McDermott, but it is a worthy risk to take. Especially because their other two options are Robert Saleh and Matt Nagy. Neither is as proven of a coach as McDermott, but both have pros and cons as potential fits. The reality is though, Saleh has way more going for him and would be a much better selection. Mike McCarthy is the forgotten man here and a lot of Titans fans are wondering why. Answering that question is probably as simple as the Titans don’t see McCarthy as as good of a fit as Nagy and Saleh, even if that is hard to believe. With all of the news swirling, odds are the Titans will have a new coach by Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

  1. I dont love the nagy choice.
    But come on man, be fair. He was the head coach pf the 12 win team. No matter what his offense was ranked. Or defense.

    Cant take away his achievement that year.

    He coached a team to a 12 win year. It's in his, resume, we can't put an asterisk next to it.That's not right

  3. Bears fan here, our RB coach Eric Bieniemy will replace nagy as oc. The Kansas City Chiefs are set to hire as Bieniemy as offensive coordinator, marking his return to the team after previously serving in that role from 2018 to 2022. So basically, Nagy was like Craig from the movie Friday, he got fired on his day off for stealing boxes. So if Titans GM hire nagy, you hiring a head coach, who just got fired. I pray for titan fans.

  7. You bet. McDermott is way better than Harbaugh. They get to go in all in, guy may have a part getting a superbowl win however the stats don't lie. This is the hottest commodity on the market. Need to get him before Steelers do

  8. The Mat Naggy being fired and trash was not a good take because it applies to the coach you want to hire they would not be available if their team wanted them, but I enjoy your shows

  11. Sean McDermott wouldn’t be a home run hire. He would be a
    walk-off grand slam, but the Titans will for sure strike out instead. SM will probably go to Baltimore if I had to guess.

  12. I didn’t want Hafley to begin with. Glad he’s out of picture. I believe borganzi is going to do his friend a favor.. it’s annoying to be defeatist titans fan but we’ve been seeing the nonsense for so long that you start to expect it. And in the end we are a small market franchise… so it feels like big hires are so far and few between.. annoying team to root for and I hope we’re all wrong and McDermott comes here

  13. Tired of All the Matt Nagy HATE. No one has a friggin crystal ball to predict the future. Last time l checked, a HC is only as good as his supporting Staff. So relax, and trust the Titans Leadership will make the right decision. All the Hate on Nagy reminds me of the prisoners trying to run the insane asylum. Nagy was actually my first choice before I got caught up in all the Hate and false narratives by the spots commentators and None of them actually have a clue. It's all speculation and l feel foolish for getting caught up in the drama when the commentators have absolute control to spin the narrative, and be biased on their own personal favorites. I'm a Titans fan for Life and l will stick by them no matter what!

  14. Saleh might prefer Cardinals over Titans. Theses guy in their interviews with Titans can read between the lines. If Nagy gets hired ownership does need to sell the team or Borgonzi should be fired.

  21. All the friggin double talk. Tyler, based on your comments it sounds like Mike McCarthy has a better chance of being hired than most are reporting – so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets the job.
