Philadelphia 76ers trade rumors are starting to heat up a few weeks before the NFL Trade Deadline. “There’s been little chatter to date about Philadelphia’s deadline plans, but the 76ers hold roughly $20 million in expiring salary between Quentin Grimes, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond. If Daryl Morey’s front office wants to make a move to strengthen Philly’s roster in an Eastern Conference even more wide open than anticipated, he certainly has the optionality. Sources say the Sixers and Grizzlies did have a level of trade discussion in mid-December … but please don’t aggregate that as a Morant wrinkle. Those talks, I’m told, involved around-the-edges roster matters. The point: If the Grizzlies do end up needing a third team to help facilitate some of their active trade dealings on a salary-matching basis, there is some recent synergy between Memphis and Philadelphia that is worth filing away.”

    1. Oubre & whatever for Jalen Smith & Julian Phillips
    2. Drummond & whatever to duck luxury tax
    3. Then sign Barlow & Walker
    4. Then after the trades the Sixers might have 1 open roster spot to sign someone and/or waive or buyout Lowry to open a roster spot to sign someone
    – I see the Sixers getting rid of Oubre & Drummond & Gordon & Lowry in trades & maybe even Justin Edwards
    – but Lowry has a no trade clause but he could waive it to help sixers match salaries in trades

  5. You are correct. They don't have to avoid this tax. Especially if you are trying to win. The most important thing to work on is, IDENTIFYING a player they can use or need. I think they need a rim protector!

  9. Trading Oubre n Drummond, especially Oubre, would be a mistake this season. Sixers best chance is to gain chemistry with the players they have. Trading Gordon n perhaps another fringe bench player would be ok but unless u get someone who can impact a game the way Drummond can on the boards it's in our best interest or just let him become a FA at the end of the season. Oubre does too much of the little things a winning team needs to get rid of him at this point in time n I'm definitely not trading McCain..

  22. He’s one of. No one is better than Embiid. Maxey is a hard worker. Embiid is a natural talent there’s a big difference Talent wise. Maxey worked hard for all we see. Embiid can take three years off and still come back and look like an MVP he’s a freak

  31. You were making sense up until you said trade McCain. Anybody who understands injuries and sports knows the first years back especially from a knee injury is almost always a getting comfortable year. But as always click bait hunters always say make a trade

I will argee that doing the potential swap might save us money to get the big time upgrade for santi aldama to upgrade kelly oubre jr contract then go grab a elite player, who can actually help the first line who can shoot. I love the idea for Memphis for the second option i rather go grab keon ellis first then start the potential swap then it makes sense for the skxers trade
