This + Sonny Styles and our LB looking very, very good. Needs to happen and then flesh out the defensive line even more.
The thing with Dean is that he’s a slightly oversized nickel. I’d love to have him out there on 3rd downs, because he can bring some pass rush juice on top of being able to cover guys, but his missed tackle rate is too high. So Idk how badly we want to invest in a 3rd down specialist when we really need a solid 3 down LB and would then need someone who can actually play 1st and 2nd down as well.
I’m honesty tired of the undersized guys in the middle of the defense. Nakobe Dean is a baller, but dude is like 5’11 225 lbs. We already have a midget safety duo, and while they are a good tandem to be honest some of these guys physical limitations show up on tape.
I’d like to see some guys with more prototypical size get brought in, although I’m never opposed to bringing in good players. Nakobe Dean is also seemingly usually battling injuries
Hey if we can get 2 ILBs in free agency I’m down. We need some proven vets there we got nothing. No way LVD comes back his knee is toast. Then from there we can stack up on the dline in the draft.
Voss seems to be good at blitzing. Tell him to pack on 20 lbs and take the sam LB/edge spot.
He’d be a great addition. We haven’t had speed like that in awhile. Hes a missile too when he gets a free blitz look at the QB. He gets there quick!
I loved Dean in the draft. I’d be interested if he came at a bargain, but unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that he can stay healthy.
