He knows it too… this was from his exit interview:
Odunze: "[This] wasn't the season I wanted to have. When the season comes to an end, a lot of those emotions kind of come flushing through … it really hurts just to not coming through in some of those moments throughout the whole season. It's not just last night. It's, you know, several different plays. Not to say that I didn't help the team. I'm not going to sit here and say, you know, 'I drove us down. I'm the reason.' It's not the attitude that I have, but when I'm not making the plays that I feel like I can make and being the player that I feel like that I am in this league, it's disappointing."

Burdon will be our WR1, Rome will be an upper class WR2
Of all the what ifs from the game, the biggest one I keep going back to is what if Rome doesn’t let the ball go through him on that first drive and catches an easy touchdown…
My fellow LB3 truthers RISE UP
I think Rome needs to fix the drop issues but his route running is so crisp and he does make a lot of clutch catches.
I think Luther can be WR1 but he also had a lot of limitations this year with not understanding the assignment.
He has to get better at contested balls. His strength coming out of Washington was supposed to be that, and I’ve seen little to tell me that is a differentiator for him.
Looking forward to getting him back at 100% next season. The injuries really seemed to derail him in every way, hoping to see him bounce back big
He had such a great start to the season. I really feel like the injury was bothering him more than we think. I have faith he will get back on track next year
Harrison and Thomas Jr as well, that 2024 WR class is pure butterfingers.
I feel like coming out of college the scouting report on Odunze and MHJ was that they don’t have drops
No YAC and no hands
Caleb should be throwing footballs at targets all offseason. Rome should be catching balls all day from the machine.
Dude played with a broken foot for half the season. Give him a break
I mean i think it was pretty obvious that Rome’s level of play dropped off after the foot injury. He definitely had a bad day on Sunday, but I still believe in Rome
Now to be clear I’m not saying this is the same situation: but the discourse around him is somewhat similar to Davonte Adams – tons of drops etc. the difference though is his route running and ability to get open is already really really good. I guess but saying that the drops can be corrected and can be worked on. He has so much potential ahead of him. I believe with this coach etc he’s going to work his ass off this offseason.
Needs to work with Brandon Marshall in the offseason. He’ll set him straight
Elic ayomanor is a real receiver?😭
He needs to improve to be our WR2
The craziest on here is MHJr. He famously only had like 2 drops in his entire run at Ohio State. Something is going on in Arizona…
Young guy. I won’t be too harsh on the guy nor the rookies. Hopefully they can clean this stuff up. Otherwise a lot of things to be happy about this season.
Ben’s divisive 4th down decisions are irrelevant if Rome makes his catches (amongst others)
He’s not the number 1. Luther Burden has everything needed to be that dude! He’s explosive, he’s dynamic. He gets open.
Yea this guy was the contested catch king coming out of college, I can count on half a hand the contested catches he’s made & I’d need 5 hands to count the drops
At least he’s self-aware enough to know he needs to make a big jump in year 3. That’s not a sure thing with receivers!
By the way, I believe Walker deserves to get more playing time as well
Said this back in September and got down voted into oblivion. Lol.
He is WR3 right now.
Go get it Rome. He could be our #1 receiver for years if he can improve in that one area I’m pretty sure.
He was great last year, and from what I remember darn good this year before his injury. I bet it hurts like fuck running on frozen ground on a recovering broken foot, and that or the pain meds he’s on may be slightly fucking with him. I think he and Burden will be an incredible WR pair where Ben Johnson moves them around between WR1, 2, and slot positions to confuse people.
Rome is a huge disappointment. I was a big fan coming out of college and loved the pick. He just has not lived up to the expectations. Doesn’t make the contested catches and drops way to many catchable balls.
Much more excited for Burden at this point. Hopefully Rome can get it together.
He’s acknowledged his down season this year. Hopefully he works on his focus in the off.
He needs to stop body catching and use his hands
