Alperen is one of only four players in the entire NBA averaging over 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Alpi is the only player in the NBA who leads his team in rebounds, assists, and steals, and he is also one of only three players who lead their team in both rebounds and assists. He was averaging 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists for the entire season. Even after the injury, despite the drop in his stats, he is still averaging 21.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 6.4 assists. Until he got injured, he had been in the MVP rankings for 10 straight weeks. The Rockets were also one of the top six teams in the NBA, I’m sharing his stats among all big men. If we include Wemby, he would rank 3rd.

Now let's get to the point. Alperen is viewed by NBA players as only the 32nd best player in the WEST Players like McDaniels, Adams, Butler, Castle, and even Bronny James received more votes than him. What is the explanation for this? I've never seen anything this absurd and unfair in my life. I know this voting is meant for the starting players, and I could have understood Alperen getting fewer votes because of that. But instead, he was literally treated like an average player

  1. Players are voting 5 players from each conference. You think they are seriously consider voting top 5 from each conference?

    If I’m a player from the East. I’m voting Jokic, SGA, Luka, Ant, Wemby for the West. Guess who I’m voting for in the East? My teammates.

  3. People don’t like guys that consistently score on them, get boards over them, and throw btb assists that are in the basket before they even know he’s passed the ball

    In other words, they are salty that he’s like 23 and cooks them on the regular lol. Who cares? Let them stay mad. The coaches will make Alpi a reserve again, and they’re the ones who actually know what they’re talking about.

  4. Who cares what they rank Alpi. He is the cornerstone of the team and that’s all that matters. 

    Now if you ask yourself whether Houston would trade Alpi for McDaniels, Bronny, Castle etc one to one, you’ll get your answer.

  6. I mean you have Stephen Curry making the line up over Anthony Edwards and people voting no defense Luka over SGA.

    Players and fans are biased and it’s showing. Sengun got robbed.

  7. Bronny only got 2 player votes, finishing 102nd. Those 2 votes were probably him and his dad. Overall the player vote is very tight with lots of guys finishing with 15-20 votes, mostly from their team and friends. Only the big stars or players on hot teams really break 20 votes.

    For reference in player vote he beat everybody on your list in the west except Jokic (fair) and Holmgren (debatable, but he did just win a ring). Sengun is in the pack of 15-20 votes where you’re one of the best players on your team, but aren’t good enough to steal votes from the big, established stars.

  8. I think it has a lot to do with guys feeling like he gets away with a lot on offense while also frequently complaining about not getting calls.

  9. Also, I read that there is a bias towards American players, usually player vote is lower than fan votes for non-American players.

  10. Alpi is ranked as low as he is because the man missed several point blank layups and dunks in the playoffs last year and got shut down by old ass Draymon Green.

    If Alpi goes out in this year’s PO’s and dominates, his ranking will go up. You’ll see.

  18. Alperen deserves it this year if he deserved it last year, but Houston was also better at this time of year last year. For all-star, coaches generally consider team performance.
