In any other sport refs aren’t just allowed to give out techs because a player is pissed about a bad call

Complaining is the least of his problems. Not playing defense and ball hogging annoys me the most.
People get fouled all the time in basketball. Not everyone complains that much
It’s not that it’s not legitimate. But when you complain all the time people start to tune you out. He just needs to save it for fourth quarter and make it a point to focus on having fun that’s when he plays best anyway
I think part of the reason for them not getting calls is the constant flopping. They should both be getting superstar calls, but the bad acting goes way too far for even me as a fan sometimes
It’s insane what you can get away with and what you can’t in the current NBA.
Players coming off a screen or bringing the ball up can be destroyed, especially if they have some size. But if you look at shooters too funny, it’s a foul.
Or offensive players can act like a bull who saw red, bulldoze a defender and get a foul call, but if a defensive player leans even a little, it’s a defensive foul.
Current NBA is stupid.

Luka should be averaging 80 free throws tbh.
I don’t know why he complains during live action, it’s extremely frustrating. LeBron does too and avoids getting back on defense but Luka is the worst I’ve ever seen

The issue is that it’s not constructive. I’ve never seen refs change how they are calling a game because a player complains. And they only reverse rulings in limited circumstances. If Lakers have a legit complaint about how games are being called, they should put together a video package and send it to the league. Or if they really feel a certain way about it, then complain in the postgame press conference (and get fined, nbd, these guys make a lot of money).
Lebron and Luka, either one of them, standing there bitching at refs while the play continues. It’s not useful unless you are trying to improve the chances of the opposing team scoring more points. They set a poor example, it encourages the rest of the team to not value getting back on defense. Because they are saying “my opportunity to bitch at the ref is more important than us winning the game”.
It’s a loser, prima donna move. They need to get over themselves.
And people compare Luka to SGA… Yes Luka foul baits but he also actually plays through contact. I don’t remember the last time I saw SGA deal with this level of physicality. Instead, he just runs into people or whips his head back or falls down after a jump shot and the refs just spoon feed him free throws.

I legitimately think that opposition coaches are telling their players to hack tf out of Luka and make him sook to the refs. Play him hard, foul him all the time, and make him earn his points at the freethrow line.
It sucks because it creates a bad narrative around his play style, but he is constantly getting mauled and it’s seriously not fair the way defenders are allowed to play against him. He deserves to be able to play the game the way it’s supposed to be played, but he isn’t able to and so he has to adjust and play the game the way that is available to him.
The moment you get labeled a “defensive” player you are allowed to be physical
