  1. Too much for one year. If Peralta agrees to an extension at the time of the trade, I’m intrigued

  2. No way. Sproat is the only pitcher I give up for 1 year of Peralta.

And no need to include Baty in this deal.

  3. Only way you consider this is for a trade and sign player. I’m still optimistic about Tong.

  4. Trade proposals like this are a moot point when we don’t even know what the Brewers want

Pitching? Trade anyone who isn’t McLean or Tong

Batting? Trade anyone who isn’t Benge or Ewing.

  5. That’s a lot for 1 year of control. Would certainly need a negotiated extension to even consider.

  6. I’m guessing me and everyone else in the Mets fandom say no.

ETA: Does Cliff Floyd hate the Mets?

  7. Now that I think of it. I’ve never seen Tyrone Biggums and Cliff Floyd in the same room together…

  8. If this was for 4 years of Peralta, I would say maybe just Mauricio and one of the other 2. But for ONE year of Peralta? No.

  9. If it was Sproat instead of Tong it’s probably a fair deal, maybe minor overpay, which might be necessary because supposedly like 8 teams are trying to trade for him. Someone is going to offer them something like Sproat and Baty. Possibly even more. Tong is too good a prospect for Peralta though. Mauricio has a high floor but a low ceiling and his development has been fucked with in various ways, so if they add him to the deal we could be laughing about it years from now or crying. No idea. Mets clearly haven’t been that eager to move him. He might end up getting Clint Frazier’d.
