SF Giants legend Carlos Beltran is now in Hall of Fame

  1. The San Francisco Giants traded for Carlos Beltran from the New York Mets on July 28, 2011, sending top pitching prospect Zack Wheeler and cash to the Mets in a deal to boost their offense after Buster Posey’s injury.

While Beltran provided a strong short-term rental, hitting .304 with 7 HRs in 47 games for the Giants, the long-term outcome favored the Mets, as Wheeler became a star pitcher for them, and the Giants didn’t re-sign Beltran, who signed with the Cardinals in 2012

  2. Contrary to what a lot might remember about this deal. It was the right thing to do at the time and Beltran played more games than you think he did. And he played better than you think he did.

  3. Well deserved. Tired of seeing these morons on r/baseball try to say he shouldn’t be in just because of 2017.

  4. Boras and Beltran only waived the no trade clause to drain the Giants of their top asset at the time (Wheeler).

This trade drastically changed how teams view rentals.

  5. The Hall of Fame continuing to lose all credibility.

You either put all of the cheaters in or you put none of them in. Enough picking and choosing which ones you like and which ones you don’t while you leave out one of the 5 greatest baseball players of all time.

  6. This is a crock of shit to imo.

If Carlos “it was proven that I cheated to win a World Series” Beltran got in, Bonds and Clemens should have gotten in 2 years ago.
