After Carlos Beltrán’s Hall of Fame induction, José Altuve’s case looks strong

  1. The salt is enough to kill you in r/baseball right now. I don’t think there is an unseasoned piece of meat in the country right now.

  2. Beltran and Cora are the two most culpable actors – Marwin its strongest beneficiary (arguably). And Altuve and Kemp are the most innocent. If the ringleader can get in…

    Edit: Reddick innocent

  3. Altuve is the embodiment of everything that’s right in baseball. It would be such a shame for him to be left out, but I’ve never really thought he would be.

  4. I’m still going to pray for Altuve to get 3,000 hits. This is obviously a major benefit, but things need to / should be undeniable.

  5. The only thing that concerns me about the justification I’ve seen for Beltran (which one of the voters said on MLB Network a few mins ago), is that they felt okay voting for him bc he was punished by losing the Mets manager job. That’s the gripe I see a lot on r / baseball, that our players weren’t punished. I could see some voters leave Altuve out bc he wasn’t punished, even though he didn’t use the system that Beltran master minded.

  6. I’m not fond of Beltran getting in despite being a great ballplayer, but I’ll tolerate it simply because it opens the door for Altuve who is a lock for the HOF and will put Correa, Springer, and Bregman into HOF consideration

  7. The voters saw what the Dodgers are doing and said “thank you Mr. Beltran please come in”.
