And that INT was more of a punt at the end of the half than an actual INT

It’s aptly named “Arm Punt”
if he can eliminate the fumbles, we have a serious chance at winning this thing. LFG PATS, keep fighting boys!
The INT needs to be clarified, BTW. Vrabel let Drake throw a 70 yd hail mary into the endzone at the end of the first half that was caught by a DB. Still an INT, but minor in the grand scheme of things.
Agree on the INT point, but this graphic doesn’t include fumbles, which are usually worse than INTs.
I’m not worried about that INT as it was a Hail Mary, infact I loved that throw as it highlighted his arm strength lol but I’m concerned about ball safety, I know weather was awful and Campbell had bad game that contributed to fumbles , but he needs to have pocket awareness especially in playoffs. May be slide up the pocket or don’t hang on to ball much or take checkdown option etc.
Hope Vrabel and McD can coach him to get there. Drake is very smart and can easily learn.
Show their fumbles.
Also had more scrimmage yards against LAC than any QB did in a game against them this year
My thoughts, precisely. This is an insanely efficient pass D. Drake was fantastic!
This graphic looks so goofy to anybody that watched the game. Drake was getting mugged so bad he didn’t have the opportunity to throw an interception because the ball was on the ground before it left his hand. He absolutely stayed collected despite the fumbles which helped lock down the win, but he needs better ball security.
Drake just has to hold on to the football a little better, but it was a snow game so I’ll give him a pass.
I really don’t think those Hail Mary int when the clock ends should could towards stats short of ones ran back or something. It’s pretty likely that either your guy catches it or their guy does and odds favor the defense provided the ball is in bounds.
I feel like if we are going to argue against people ignoring Maye’s rushing yards and TDs when comparing his numbers to Stat Padfords when debating the MVP, we also need to include Maye’s fumbles when talking about turnovers lol
Let not forget the fumbles, people
I think they should get some more designed scrambles, runs, and rollouts. Give the defense more to think about and stop letting these edge rushers just get shot out of a cannon on obvious passing downs.
And I think Drake will also be the first to admit that he had a bad game. I mean in terms of efficiency metrics it was just about his worst of the year. I think the slick conditions impacted him throwing, and he hasnt shown to be a playoff riser as of yet (which is totally fine it’s his first playoff run against all top tier defenses). I really hope he turns it on this week and shows the world why he’s elite.
Drake’s worst play outside of some missed throws was the broken play scramble where he had the ball knocked out. The other fumbles were strip sacks where he had no shot. Campbell was getting beat so quick. The pick was obviously a hail mary that didn’t matter to anyone except box score watchers.
“but CJ turned it over a milllion times, of course they scored on Houston!” except the only points off turnovers came from Marcus Jones pick six. Drake had TD drives of 65, 55, and 75 yards. Pop touchdown was on 4th down, the window to Diggs was ridiculously small (great catch), and if he throws the boutte ball half a yard shorter or longer it’s incomplete (insane catch too). I’ll ride with that performance vs a “generational defense” all day.
Why does the graphic only include one of Lawrence’s games and not the other?
They should change the interception rule to not include Hail Mary’s.
Something like if it’s the last play of a half and the line of scrimmage is 30 yards out and the ball is intercepted in the end zone it counts as an incompletion.
They should have definitely thrown one in that case but it seems dumb to penalize the QB for it when it’s intercepted.
My coworkers and friends are salty that they won. One told me “if he keeps fumbling like that they’ll be trounced by the broncos!!” I told him ya but he fumbled 4 times but came right back and threw some absolutely beautiful passes kid got poise and a short attention span that’s needed in the playoffs
There needs to be an Arm Punt stat lmao.
Yes, as we’ve been saying all along on this sub, TD:INT ratio is the only stay that matters for evaluating QB performance.
Pat mahomes was not a top qb this year. He sucked ass
The fumbles are a serious issue though. Thankfully the Patriots recovered most of them and didn’t turn it over.
The fact that people care about a hail Mary interception is insane. Like, yeah it counts on the Stateline, but c’mon. Let’s just hammer Steph Curry for missing a 3/4 length of the floor shot at the buzzer too.
We HaVeN’t PlAyEd AnYoNe YeT tHoUgH 🤡
Cross post this to r/nfl so they can seethe.
Also do this in shit weather
Someone left off Bo Nix 2 TD 1 Int against the Texans.
He is him.
Of course Stafford the only one to not throw a pick against them
3 TD, 1 INT, 4 FUM
So funny to me that people are still including Aaron Rodgers in a graphic about “top QBs”.
People think we suck. That we cant win any games.
We’ll see
The INT was a nothing burger.
The fumbles concern me more. He seems to still be learning on how to feel backside pressure – Tom had a supernatural sense about it and knew when to step up or eat a sack, Drake often doesn’t feel it until he’s getting stripped of the ball.
INTs are not his problem right now. When he gets the ball out, it’s usually insanely accurate. The issue is the fumbles and pocket presence. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt because of who he played the last two weeks, but Denver isn’t going to be any easier. And if we make it to the Super Bowl, and the Seahawks are playing, it will be the same scenario. But one thing I’ve learned about Drake Maye is he learns from his mistakes and always improves. Hopefully that’s the case with the fumbles.
Wild amount of non Pats fans in this comment section
But he fumbled 4 times and had two recovered ik he sling the football but he gotta do better with those fumbles especially against Denver who is supposedly better than the Texans defense
Ok but he also is a fumble machine so you cant just ignore that lol. Hopefully he can clean it up but he does lead the league in fumbles and Sunday we were lucky our defense was playing great and stroud was ass.
it doesn’t count because something something easy schedule. Also because chargers aren’t good. Also because stroud played like ass. Also because nix is out.
Lmao
3TD and a Hail Larry
Texans fan here – Drake made some great throws into tight windows. His zip is unreal. But the story is those catches by WRs on all 3 TDs. Absolutely incredible
“Top NFL QBs”
So what’s Aaron Rodgers doing here?
Drake played much better than I expected against the Texans
