Mid that’s fucking funny more like bargain low at best
They didn’t do anything stupid. But they also didn’t do anything with a high reward potential.
They got a new coach. Maybe they’re waiting to swoop in with a two-year-with-an-opt-out deal on someone, to make themselves more lock-out safe. Maybe they complete a trade to upgrade at second or RF.
Ultimately, they have a one-year window with that’s good enough to carry through the playoffs. Webb-Ray-Roupp can work, but it can be better. The infield is really good, but it can be better. The outfield is good, but it can be better.
Mid right now includes a mediocre basement that’s still better than truly bad teams, and a ceiling that’s below the ceiling of the Dodgers and Blue Jays.
Mid? But we got a new theater!
That’s generous IMO
Another 82 win season incoming woo hoo💪
The Giants 🤝 Mediocrity
Beautiful, it’s perfect
We got a manager that will do cartwheels down the line or whatever after home runs, at least there’s that. I’m sure the pros will love that.
Once they complete the purchase of the Castro Theater and the Presidio they’ll move up to an A-Tier
SF and AZ will battle for 3rd and 4th place in the West. No chance they have a better record than SD. No chance they make the playoffs. No chance for “meaningful baseball” after the all star break.
Mid is the name of the game when it comes to giants baseball
Jim Bowden, who I usually consider a bad take generator, but was still a bona fide MLB GM, had a separate piece where he asked the same questions and also highlighted the terrible optics of the theatre being our biggest off season acquisition. Good times.
Do we count Tony vitello as a signing
Got Wash, Curran, and a pitcher who’s compiled 6.0 career WAR across 733 career innings.
When did the SF Giants become a third world country in MLB?

F wtf yall think
FWIW, the [actual rankings](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6984114/2026/01/20/mlb-offseason-tiers-teams-trying/) that yahoo is scraping for #content has the giants firmly in the bottom third of teams, in the “Doing what, exactly?” tier.
