[Rodriguez] Eloy Jiménez is in his best form. He hit 10 doubles, the most in the Round Robin, and led with 16 RBIs. His body is in the best shape of his career: he works every day, morning and afternoon, and is playing above-average defense at first base. #Toronto

We have Kyle Tucker at home
‘Best shape of his life’ szn
There it is.
it’s “best shape of his life” time – spring must be just around the corner!
Ah the annual “best shape of his career” reports. Except, I did not expect it to be from Eloy Jimenez.
Would be nice to find a sleeper like this who regains form and surprises.
Career OPS+ of 112, HR per 162 of 29, and just turned 29 years old.
Do I think he’ll contribute at the major league level again? Not really. Would it be the craziest thing ever? Not at all. I’m intrigued.
Rooting for him hard to be honest.
He had a very promising career lined up and then was hit with lower-body injury after lower-body injury after lower-body injury. Believe it is like 20+ isolated injuries between 2019-2024 with nearly all of them in the lower-body. Can’t hit when you can’t generate anything from your legs.
Hopefully, a couple years removed from the injuries, no longer needing to run the OF and with much less pressure to succeed he can have some sort of career resurgence. Shouldn’t bet on it to happen per say but crazier comebacks have happened before.
Love these “best shape of his career” posts makes me think of Nfl preseason
You know the Jays have had a disappointing week when we start getting “best shape of his life” tweets
best shape of his life, you say?
News of his death was greatly over stated
Looks like my idea of Jimenez being a great “buy low” pickup might be coming to fruition!
EDIT: not complaining, just puzzled but I say something nice and overly hopeful about a player and I get downvoted twice? Sheesh, tough crowd man, tough crowd.
I was waiting for the first “best shape of his life” post this off-season.

First base, you say?
He was a pretty hyped player just a few years ago. Largely derailed by injuries. Given that he’s still just 29, there is always a chance he could be a sleeper. Obviously not probable, but you never know.
Anyone thinking Springer repeats last year is delusional. He is a huge regression candidate. I’ll take any good news on offense
Joey Bats 2.0
This tweet from his agent?
We’re starting the “player X is in the best shape of his career” posts early this year.
Best shape of his life season came early

BBRef says Eloy’s nickname is ‘Big Baby’. Am I misremembering or did Okamato also say his nickname in Japan was ‘Big Baby’?
Is this a new market inefficiency?
His agent right now…

The Toronto Blue G/Jimenez’s
The complaining I’ve done about this lineup being all defence and no offence for them to flip and have Santander, Springer, Jimenez, Barger, and Guerrero all in the lineup at the same time would be hilarious.
Is Eloy now a primary 1B or does he have other positions he can play well?
See you in the World Series, Eloy
As a White Sox fan, I beg of you not to fall for this. I’ve heard this story half a dozen times. He’s a fantastic hitter when he’s healthy. The problem with that is he’s fragile as all hell. I desperately wanted to believe in him but the problem is I’ve seen him get hurt a million different ways from the slightest of movements.
i love a random sleeper like this. i have zero expectations but i do have hope
There are worse ideas for lottery tickets. It’s never really been about talent, he’s just fragile as hell and sometimes the bat speed and athleticism goes with it.
Eloy Jiménez is always in the best shape of his life
