OFFSEASON EARTHQUAKE: Dodgers Land Tucker, Mets Snag Bichette | Next Move For The Giants and MLB

The offseason just tilted — hard. Kyle Tucker lands with the Dodgers on a staggering four-year, $240 million deal that resets the market, while Bo Bichette heads to the Mets on a short-term, opt-out-heavy contract and Ranger Suárez cashes in with the Red Sox. We break down the structure of Tucker’s record-setting deal, why the Dodgers keep winning at the margins, and what Bichette’s Mets fit tells us about today’s shifting free-agent landscape. Plus, a look at who’s still left on the board, why this moment is so frustrating for Giants fans, how these moves reshape the NL race, and what it all means as MLB inches closer to another looming labor fight. The money is flying — just not evenly — and the gap between the haves and have-nots is becoming impossible to ignore.

  1. Very sad and disappointed theDodgers should not be allowed to just buy championship year after year.
Wouldn't be surprised if they trade and get Skubal.
Just give trophy, to Dodgers and let everyone else play for 2nd place.

  2. Owner Charles Johnson is taking a knee. He doesn't care if the Giants win 100 or lose 120 because he makes $$$ either way. The Dodgers baring injuries are on a Lakers style run and are the Yankees of the 21st Century. They are winning the next five or six World Series and will do it easily, as in being a mortal lock. Everyone else is playing for runner up. Right now, if a work stoppage happens that's the only thing that would break up what appears to be an otherwise guaranteed dynasty. The Giants are only helping this along by electing not to participate. If Posey walked away, I would not blame him. I would not have the fortitude to put up with the owners BS either.

  3. I am relieved Bichette didn't go to the Dodgers so the bitching doesn't get even louder, and the calls for a salary cap which would just screw the players. The Dodgers should be winning like 110 games per year with the money they spend, but they only won 93.

  4. Im a giants fan but getting tired of watching the giants ownership band-aid a team together well enough to be a 500 team but yet watching the freakin dodgers grab players! Sell the team if your not willing to give your fans a winning team!!! FREAKIN SPEND AND GIVE THE FANS A TEAM THAT CAN COMPETE WITH THE DODGERS!!!

  5. I'm not surprised we lost out on both free agents. SF management just over there sitting on their hands. Great another year of at or below .500 and mediocrity.

  6. The problem with big league baseball in 2026 is that rich teams have weaponized the fact that MLB doesn't have a working commissioner- and hasn't had one since Fay Vincent. And this is all made possible by dickless psycho commissioner moneybags

  7. I think its inevitable at this point there will be a lockout. Yesterday set that precedent. However, I don’t think there necessarily needs to be a salary cap. They need to fix this differed money nonsense. The fact these massive contracts won’t even count against the annual payroll is absolutely insane.

  8. Forget about the Dodgers – They'll do what they think is best for them. The Giants need to put together a team that can get them into the playoffs. We aren't that far away – I do believe they can still get there with a couple of smart moves – what they are I have no idea. Go Giants.

  9. The dodgers make ANYONE look like a cheapskate. Even Steve Cohen of the Mets. This has been going on since 2012, The dodgers now have (5) 200 million dollar contracts, and nobody can compete with what they spend. I'm so burned out on this. Wake me up in 10 years, and we'll see if anything has changed. The only way out is for baseball to adopt a hard cap, like football.

  10. At this point, I hope there is a lockout. I hope it lasts a couple of years. Sports salaries are obscene. At least there is some parity in the other 2 major sports. I hope someday anything over $10,000,000 is taxed at 90 or 100 %. This not just for sports, for all of us.

  11. Allen, stop, saying the dodgers aren’t doing anything wrong. Owners are stewards of the game. They are responsible for making decisions that don’t hurt the game. Dodgers greed and gluttony is their own choice and signs they are wrong.

  12. If the team owner is crying about the Dodgers ownership ruining baseball needs to get out or shut up??!The MLB lockout is going to hurt baseball? Not the Dodgers 🤔😮😊😎

  13. Giants fans you have to remember, the Dodgers are playing Chess while the Giants are playing checkers. Theres only a few teams that can spend like the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, probably the Redsox, that's about it. It's all about resources, basically the Giants are rich in tradition. So, what MLB needs is a hard salary cap. It fixed Football, its controlled basketball, if not the trend will continue, rich gets rich, while the poor gets poorer. It is what it is. 😮

  14. Allen, don’t the let these Small Mkt owners off the hook. Don’t let the Giants off the hook.
    Hold the Giants accountable.
Hold these Small Market owners accountable.
Just because you can’t match LA’s revenue you’re not gonna compete for one of the fourteen playoff spots? Nah, I can’t go for that.
