I know probably confirming what we already figured, but given Glazer and Tomlin’s history, feels like this holds more weight.

I’d probably sit at home to get paid 50 million too. Can’t wait to see what media he takes his Tomlinisms to next.

  1. I mean… it’s been a week. If he was gonna unretire, it would be a year+ from now.

  2. If I were him I would be done. What is he 53/54? Coaching is more than a full time job…If I had the money he made at this point I would not be heard from ever again…Id enjoy family time and my marriage. relaxing and doing hobbies…

  3. I wonder how much money he left on the table by not finishing out his contract? Though i imagine with a NFL head coaches salary and a good money manager, he’s probably well past the “set for several generations” point.

  4. I can’t see him not coaching again. He’ll take a well-deserved break or layoff, but if a job comes up in the future and there’s mutual interest, I strongly believe he would consider it.

  5. Mike Tomlin doesn’t even know if Mike Tomlin is done coaching. So this is all stupid to worry/think about.

  6. I’m inclined to believe this because Tomlin all throughout his career has communicated nearly solely with Glazer when it comes to stuff DIRECTLY effecting himself. He’s one of Tomlin’s friends and he always has insider info because again, it’s Tomlin speaking directly to him. Tomlin is his source

  7. I think he has to retire first before saying “he wont come out of retirement.” It is amazing how sports talk is legitimately made up quotes and thoughts from “insiders”.

  8. Not sure why that twitter account cropped out the full context. Glazer was specifically mentioning 2026.

  9. I hope he really means this, I don’t want to see him in another teams uniform

    Enjoy life Mike.

  10. This quote is being taken out of context. If you listen to the podcast Glazer said he (Glazer) is getting a lot of calls from teams this season asking if there’s any possible way to get Tomlin to consider a job.

So in the context of this cycles openings, glazer said “no he’s done” for this season – Glazer didnt say forever.

  11. Everyone thinks he’s going to tv and I don’t think he is. I think we rarely ever see that man.

  12. 19 years at a very high level high stress job requiring a 24/7 commitment? He’s put his time in and can now work an easy TV job like Bill Cowher.

  13. He leaves as a head coach with 19 seasons without a losing season and is a Super Bowl winning coach. Despite any of the negative aspects throughout his career, what is there to prove? He’s made a ton of money and why not spend the next 20 or 30 years, cherishing those moments with your family that you had to give up while coaching.

  14. I thought buffalo would be an option but then I remembered him and sean mcdermott and old friends so he probably won’t want that job

  15. Let that man enjoy his retirement and the remainder of his life… every coach doesn’t have to sacrifice his life to the game of football

  16. I remember when they kept saying cowher was coming out of retirement when Mike t first got hired . Long term coaches don’t usually come back. They see the business for what it is and now when there era has come to and end. Much respect coach T

  17. When had Jay Glazer been right about anything Tomlin related. He was predicting retirement every off season for the last five years.

  18. Didn’t the betting markets have Tomlin as their #2 possibility for Buffalo? Another reason I will never gamble on sports.
