Dallas Cowboys rumors on the defensive coordinator search continue to dominate the Cowboys news cycle. There’s some conflicting info on the timing of a possible Jim Leonhard interview, so Cowboys Report host Tom Downey breaks that down and goes in-depth on the three in-person interview candidates in Daronte Jones, Jonathan Gannon and Christian Parker.

Cowboys rumors on hiring Jim Leonhard as the Cowboys defensive coordinator have some conflicting information. Reports like Todd Archer have said that the Cowboys can not interview him until after the AFC Championship game. But, the Dallas Morning News now reports that “The timeline for assistants targeted to be coordinator hires — like Jim Leonhard — is actually different from HC hires. The Cowboys could talk to Leonhard up until Saturday, but then can’t until after the Broncos are eliminated.”
Cowboys Report host Tom Downey finds that rather confusing, since the Cowboys and the rest of the NFL haven’t tried to talk to Leonhard this week despite reported interest in him. So option 1 is that the Cowboys and/or Leonhard don’t have that much mutual interest right now, despite the reports. Or the (more likely?) Option 2 is Jim Leonhard is choosing to wait on in-person interviews to prep for the AFC title game.

– Christian Parker: Wednesday
– Jim Leonhard: Not scheduled

Leonard should be scheduled to be in person on Monday morning
Do I highly doubt that they'll actually hire him whether they want him here or not I doubt he will end up saying okay well I'll just go from mediocre to horrible and see if I can hopefully turn things around then spends one year here and then goes back there to the eagles and tell them all of our plays learned so we have to end up changing everything

If they wait much longer, the inevitable will be Gannon. They need to hire Christian Parker pretty soon, he's an excellent coach, Eagles fans are losing their minds, I guarantee you, if we wait more than another week, Gannon WILL be the choice. I already have a feeling that's what's going to happen anyways.

They should look into a college coach. We need a great DC to match our Offense so we can go undefeated….for at least 6 games 😁
I’m tired of the same recycled coaches from the good-old-boys network. I’m sick of hiring someone from another team when their defense ranked 27th last year.
Why not go after a young, creative, hungry college coach? Smarter, innovative, and not part of the stale recycling loop.
Let’s interview five top college defensive coordinators with at least three years of experience and a top-10 defense in all three.
Who do I want, someone that can fix this defense, make it competitive, who that is we wont know until he shows up and a season is under his belt.

Daronte Jones . How come when mention LSU you don't mention 8 starters were injured. Coach got fired at half season. People in Louisiana wanted him back.
