5. So the premier OC candidate passes on coaching Allen, Lamar, Jalen and Baker to coach Justin Herbert. Once again, people who know football get it. People who just watch football and talk about football don’t.

6. Chargers lose big game failing to score, not protecting the QB, he wants to lean modern offenses and have tricks to score when the traditional approach isn't working. Playoff and playoff wins, seeing another successful organization and style, is better than taking a job with a losing team that were rejected by the top candidates.

Coach Jim had to step outside of his comfort zone to make this hire, stepping outside of one's comfort zone is how one grows and becomes successful. Herbert is 27 years old, still lots of years left in his career to get him into Canton.

38. Finally a playcaller. They've been so boring on offense, it's almost unwatchable at times. I was never bored with any of the LT, Rivers era teams. I've turned Chargers games off in the last 5 years because the offenses have been so bland and anemic.
