  1. >”The same as usual blowing a 15-plus point lead. The good thing is we’re all into the problem,” Wembanyama said of the team’s failure to protect leads. “We’re offering our minds into it, but we’re conscious it is a problem.”

    >”I don’t think that anyone took shots today that were like (screw) the team or I’m doing what I want to do,” Champagnie said. “No one did it with bad intentions. But I think that’s a part of us growing up and becoming a better team. We got guys who can get shots off at any time. (De’Aaron) Fox, Vic, Steph, (injured forward) Dev (Vassell), when he’s playing. So I think figuring out a way to get the best shot for the team (is the challenge). I think we have to continue to figure out and build out what that looks like.”

The guys are acknowledging their problems and also still learning to play together and build that chemistry. We get excited because we have seen the potential, but last night won’t be the last frustrating game by a longshot.

Still a long ways to go before this team truly gets firing on all cylinders, but definitely the most exciting it has been since the Big 3 era. The future is bright in SA. GSG!

  2. They played like shit that entire game, the only reason that they even built that big lead in the first place was Champagnie got red hot and the Rockets were also playing like shit. Julian cooled off and the Rockets started playing like themselves and it was game over.

But it was the second night of a back to back, on the road, against a damn good team. We fought them pretty close, considering. No need to navel-gaze too much, I don’t think.

  3. Frustrating because we’re talented enough to win a chip but inconsistent enough to get bounced in Round 1

  4. Still a year ahead of schedule by all accounts. It is frustrating to watch when they squander big leads but these are growing pains. They need to learn how to lose before they know how to win. This is year 1 of this group. Only up from here.

  5. If Wemby wants maturity, stop dunking so flashy in the warmups. Save your energy so you don’t fizzle out late game. Save your legs, you’re still conditioning.

  6. We have a young team and a young coach, it’s both from the bench and on the court where mistakes are being made under pressure. But we are way ahead of schedule and these are growing pains.

  7. Play better defense Wemby. Stop jumping on them pump-fakes. Stop reaching across your body w/ your right arm for a block; go up straight and contest with the left arm.
