  9. I’m guessing he lets Pelinka finish the year – but with all decisions needing approval. There aren’t GMs available during the season. But before then I bet we begin to staff up our scouting and analytics departments. I think the only GM we absolutely won’t get now is Presti. I wouldn’t mind if he went after Brad Stevens. This would be the time to do it as Boston’s new ownership just took over.

    The timing was good for this. It really has put Jeanie in a defensive position – and I think that’ll help loosen any tentative grip she has as a governor.

  11. Jeanie negotiated for her to stay for 5 years as a part of the deal. Unless you want Walter to breach contract, Jeanie will stay.

    But Walter made no such guarantees for anyone else in the FO as seen by Jesse and Joey being replaced.

  14. Rob is done for sure if he skips the trade deadline just to try for Giannis, only for him to go someplace else. If he still has his job after that, then that’s a huge L on Mark’s part.

  16. People are underestimating how much bullshit Klutch put the Lakers through since before LeBron even got here. The KCP and TRT contracts were extortion. AD should and would have come for free as a free agent, but faked an injury and forced his way early so we’d give up assets AND have to pay him even more via extension. Dont even get me started on Brixton Bricklayer EastWestNorthSouthBrick.

The way you all are so quick to lick the boots of some mega corporation and so easily toss aside the Buss family is absolutely ridiculous..   24. Jeannie is a snake. And I say this as a 20+ year season ticket holder. I don blame her for siding against Jim back in the day – we were due for a change. However, what started to drastically change my opinion on her was the way she treated Mitch Kuptchak as part of the transition away from Jim. She put out a story using Kevin’s Ding as her mouthpiece, dragging Mitch through the mud essentially saying that Mitch’s daughter’s fatal illness had caused him to underperform at his job. No decent human being would do such a thing. Then again, no decent human being would tell her own brother he should not have been born. She is a snake and I am glad we are moving away from her.

    Also, no way any of those clowns deserve $8to $24m out of this sale. That is absolutely ridiculous. For fucks sake, she barely paid Mitch and Jerry West any money when they separated for the team – AND THEY WERE BOTH INSTRUMENTAL TO MAKING THE LAKERS WHAT WE KNOW-TODAY.

    I hope they fire her soon.

    As far as Rob, if he does not end up with a Giannis like trade or off season signing, he will be gone.

  27. The Buss children, Rambis, Pelinka and co can be ambassadors for the brand until the end of time for all I care. None of them should be running the team in any capacity, regardless of if Luka fell in Robs lap or not

  37. She’s not leaving. She got it in writing that she stays on for five years if she wants. Mark Walter and she have a great relationship, and she went with because of her trust. He’s not gonna go back on that because of some ESPN article. All this stuff was known to some degree when the deal happened. The Buss family overall has kids don’t match up to their dad, but Jeanie is the best of the bunch and she’s proven it. Her personal family dynamics and up to her family to deal with, and don’t involve the Lakers.
