ET's voice kills me.
We don’t know that Scoot is a bust. We just know that he wasn’t ready.
Evan Turner hit the nail on the head, there is NOTHING you can
do to stop Deni Avdija when he goes into the paint !!
deni is such a beast! I had no idea who he was until this season but I love him! Him with Dame, Jrue, and Cling Kong is going to SLAY next season!
To put it mildly, you're a fool if you think Scoot Henderson was a miss. About a year from now, when he'll still only be 22 years old, that comment is not going to have aged well at all. Just like you smirked more than once about the Avdija trade, my friend, you're playing the fool again.
Turbo
When Portland traded for Deni I didn't hear anyone in Portland talking about, "overypaying for Deni". Everyone was excited. A lot of people were expecting him to be a great 2nd or 3rd option. Did he surprise everyone? Yeah, but we weren't calling it a bad trade.
Everyone is writing off Scoot like he's washed. Dude is still only 21. The hamstring tear was pretty bad. But those types of injuries when they dont require surgeries are generally 100% recoverable from. We don't know when he'll be back but its pretty certain when he's back he'll be the same athlete he was before the tear. If they give up on this kid they'll regret it in 2-3 years.
Nice to feel and hear the love- nothing better than winning games to get people hyped. A couple months ago people were moaning and wailing in Portland. Such is the roller coaster. But let's come to earth a little. This "genius" Joe Cronin was the same GM that extended the losingest coach in franchise history. The hall of fame disaster named Chauncey Billups. Billups got the boot only because of his legal shifty situation, so much of the coaching that is getting these players moving forward is happening with Tiago Splitter at the helm. Credit to Cronin for brining in solid asst coaches finally. I'm not totally sold on Yang Hansen as a draft pick. Jury is still out on Scoot. So there are some hits, some misses with Cronin. Right now, it feels good. Let's see if we can ride this for a while.
27 7 7…
Deni is an all star for sure. Scoot is not a miss. He's developing, he's young, and it's the hardest position to learn. DeAaron Fox was bad for a while. Billups as a player was bad for like 7 years (and a bad coach and a cheater yadada). Scoot is not a bust, and he's going to learn a lot from Jrue and Dame
Like the solid Blazers build talk.. Except saying Scoot was a miss is a misssss`~ Wait and see. Last yr Scoot took a clear jump from his 1st season struggles, while showing he has a 3pt shot.He worked incredibly hard in offseason and sadly had the iniury which has stretched out.. Once he returns in the next month he should knock off rust fast aand start to showw his growth. How he sees the game is notably improving, which slows the game down.
The real ascending Portland Trailblazers team with be co driven by Scoot and Deni, both pressure the D constantly and are v capable passers and unselfish talents in a team dynamic. For interim coach Splitter its been impressive how hard and together he has this team playing, even thru multiple injuries.. A healthy blazers team in thiis years playoff, no one wants to see, except okc 😉
Deni is a superstar 💙🤍💙🖐🎯
Blazers should trade for kawhi 👀
Dame
Jrue
Kawhi
Deni
Clingon
Would be nasty
they need another Big man Hansen will not be ready on the next two years for playoffs and Big games Sry big guy
RIPCITY BABY
My guyyy Evan🪣🐐
Y’all still sleeping on Scoot 😹🤦🏽♂️
No one was concerned about avdija’s pay. Portland fans didn’t watch Washington games. Blazer fans thought brogdon AND picks?!! I knew this trade was massive for my blazers only because I live in the DC area. Deni was and is amazing. Dame being traded was a huge blessing due to the assets obtained and Portland got him back for free. It’s insane.
Portland having one of the toughest schedules to this point and being .500 with 7 players consistently being out is nuts. Every game has multiple two way and g league guys making up the difference.
Rebuild is over? Stop it. Are they good enough to be a legit contender at this point? No. Until then the rebuild continues. They are showing big improvement though and I'm glad for that
I agree with everything except the Scoot take — can’t judge him while he’s injured and he’s gonna light a fire in the second half
Why are you writing off Scoot Henderson. He's 21 and averaged 13.3 ppg his first two seasons. Unsure of his work ethic during this torn hamstring… but great athlete with lots of upside. I still think he' could be a great player in this league.
Calling scoot a miss is crazy
Tiago Splitter should get some credit for this year's turnaround considering how banged up the roster has been. The team is playing with more purpose than at any time during the Billups era.
Scoot not a miss lol he’s a 20 21 year old kid still and was playing good at the end of last season he just got hurt
