Giants star Jung Hoo Lee detained at Los Angeles International Airport

  1. Hopefully Boras is right and it’s a non-issue.

Wonder why he is flying through LA?

  2. Scott Boras said it was a matter of paperwork. Jung Hoo Lee was arriving ahead of his scheduled appearance at fan fest in San Ramon on Saturday. They got Nancy Pelosi’s office involved to secure his release. Whoever detained him is probably a Dodgers fan

  3. I’ll take this opportunity to remind Scott Boras that he can go f himself. I mention this only because he’s involved in the story.

  4. Please don’t tell me I’m going to be seeing him in a Dodger uniform in a few years. That would be a pretty big indictment on the Giants organization. As if there weren’t already enough indictments. (I like Posey and Vitello but let’s be real they’re going to have to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.)

  5. **UPDATE:**

    >San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee was released after being held to resolve a paper-work issue Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport, his agent Scott Boras told the Chronicle.

    >Boras said it was “not anything political or anything like that.” A spokesperson for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, said her office had been working with the Giants organization, congressional partners and federal liaisons to resolve the situation and secure Lee’s release.

  6. At least he has the connections and resources to help him. So many other people aren’t this lucky. Hope he’s doing okay.

  7. Is there a reason Lee Jung-hoo went through LA instead of flying straight to SF?
ICN–SFO usually has direct flights, so maybe he had something to do in LA first?

  8. Guys, let’s not overcomplicate this. This has nothing to do with ICE or even really baseball. A Korean national forgot to bring his travel documents and was detained by US customs. That’s a normal situation and should happen. I don’t know exactly what he’s missing but imagine if you tried to enter the US without your passport.

Just bad luck and I’m sure everything will be cleared. Worst case, he rides business class back to Korea and then back. I’m sure the young man will be fine.

  9. lol you asked me a question and didn’t even understand my original point with a WTF and then I answered you in two sentences and I need to chill out? Ok boss.
