  1. It would be reasonable if it happens because at the end everything around baseball would be affordable. Seriously, put it in perspective, this contracts are generous because the game has become very expensive from a hot dog and a beer to a parking lot fee just to give an example.

  2. This salary cap thing is just a slap in the face to free market capitalism! Plain and simple! I'm a 40+ year Die Hard Yankee fan who applauds what the Dodgers are doing! Yankees did the SAME EXACT thing and because of it, Yankees merch is seen worn worldwide by a majority of casual fans and non fans! Why? Because the Yankees have built that status by spending and winning! You MUST invest and spend money to make more money! Salary caps are just another form of socialism! Who's going to get richer and who's going to get poorer if a salary cap is imposed?! Have we not learned from history about the disasters of Socialism?! If the teams that don't spend the money actually went and spent more money, talent would be more evenly distributed!

  3. As a baseball fan you have to love the david v goliath story line.

Mlb can make so much money with The Dodgers being so dominant when you see other sports cashing in.

Nba was at it best when MJ and bulls were winning.

NFL had the patriots for so long

MLB use to have the yankees and now its the dodgers.

  4. Massively biased as a Cubs fan, but the 2016 WS better be third place for Costas. 7 game series, the Cubs overcoming a 3-1 deficit, extra innings in game 7 with a weather delay, Kris Bryant slipping on the last ground ball- all between two teams who had not won for decades.

  5. The main issue here is that yes the Dodgers can spend a lot of money but they also have arguably the smartest front office in baseball. They draft well, they trade well and they sign well. That's why so many people are angry. Usually owners just have one advantage but the Dodgers have like all of the advantages. Add to the fact that they play in amazing weather and you have free agents that want to go there.

  6. Sooo are you two going to be the people telling the players about their 600% paycuts?
The only thing remotely happening is to increase the minimum owners need to spend

  7. Remember when the Yankees had the big Japan signing in Hideki Matsui. Then added AJ Burnett. CC Sabathia. Alex Rodriguez. Mark Texiera and so on. But now it’s a problem.😂

  8. Those teams getting the big luxury tax payout should bank that money and spend a bit more the next year. The Dodgers shouldn't be punished because they understand how to spend money to make money. They are an exciting team to watch and are bringing people to baseball. Meanwhile, the teams who refuse to spend their money to improve their teams, they're the problem. I want to watch Paul Skenes. I don't want to watch anything else from the Pirates as the ownership won't bother surrounding him with quality. They have their business plan. Pocket everything and spend as little as possible. That's bad for the game.

  9. I’m gonna say something no one is mentioning..MOST owners don’t care about a WS.. they secretly Love those luxury tax payments.. salary cap makes that go away and now they have to invest in infrastructure

  10. costas listed the reason why this was the best world series and didnt even mention the heroic pitching of yamamoto

but also shows that everything had to go right for the dodgers to win in 7 games
