5. I have a crazy idea. You sign a defensive head coach and you get the great young offensive coordinator, but in the contract for the great young offensive coordinator you put in a stipulation that if he leaves there must be a draft pick compensation

   Write that into the contract where if he leaves the team that signs him has to be willing to give up a second round pick to get him. Otherwise he has to stay until the end of his contract before he leaves or is terminated obviously.

   I don't see why teams can't put this language into these contracts because if you know that the young offensive coordinator you sign him for a 4-year deal and he's gone after one year or 2 years and it ruins the development process. Why not just put in a stipulation that would make it worth your while to hey he left but you're getting a second round pick in return so it's kind of worth it

   I don't understand why there isn't these kind of triggers in these contracts if an opposing team wants to take a signed contracted member of your organization away from your organization.

   This has always been the case for head coaches. I remember you had to trade for head coaches which is not a crazy thing. It happened with Sean Payton and John gruden

11. We're not a desirable place to be a HC, these guys see how we've handled business the last few (more than) years. I wouldn't want to go somewhere that has a impatient owner, that's quick to pull the trigger on firing me. 😒 Also, theres more desirable places to go, where they'll be apart of the franchise for more than contract. I'd be extremely surprised if we get either of the Kubiak brothers. 😮‍💨

26. The Raiders record with defensive minded coach is terrible besides John Madden. After Madden was gone, there is only 1 year that a defensive minded coach had a winning record (Jack Del Rio). The following year we sucked and he was fired. We need an Offensive minded coach!

29. No one was going to extend Mike McDaniel a HC offer this cycle. He came off as a limp wristed non leader of men, lost that locker room way too quickly before their lil streak this season.

    We gotta keep the staff young, worst case see if Rob Leonard has the ability to promote to DC yet along with Kubiak/Webb as HC/OC

38. I'd rather have Davis Webb as HC and Kingsbury as OC. We need a guy who can develop quarterbacks, You got to have that on your team. My only concern is that Sean Peyton will talk Webb out of coming to the Raiders in any capacity. Bills Parcells talked Sean Peyton out of coming to the Raiders years ago. What a change in Raiders history might have occurred had Peyton accepted the head coaching job with the Raiders? By all accounts, Webb is off the charts In every metric you want for a coach. Kingsbury said that if he had a kid playing quarterback he would want Webb to coach him. I think you got to take a chance on a bright, rising star like Webb, just like a chance was taken on a young Jon Gruden. After 51 seasons I'm tired of woulda, shoulda and coulda with the Raiders. After all the terrible hires they've made over the decade, this one makes the most sense to me.
