12. If they hire Jim Schwartz the best you can hope for is he's a worse HC than Kevin and you get a top pick. The last thing I want is a lame duck HC.

    If you give Kev players hes a good coach. Hes proven that. Who can win with the garbage lineup we rolled out there? I mean honestly?

20. OC vs head coach? No Browns. I will take the OC. Getting turned down is never good. It reflects on the organization.

So does this satisfy the NFL rule they must interview at least two minority candidates if they drop out and was scheduled for an interview ?..Does he still count as one of the minorities even though he backed out ?..it's like he maybe he knew his chances of being hired in Cleveland just wasn't there..nobody would want to be a candidate out of convenience for any team..unless it still counts

25. I think I have a solution to our coaching dilemma which would breathe now life into the Browns. First–and I know this is difficult to swallow, but let Jim Schwartz go. I feel he has taken the defense as high as it can go. Hire BOTH Chris Shula and Nate Scheelhaas as co HC. This way we get 2 coaches from the McVay tree and lots of new energy and ideas.

26. I am a big fan of coaching candidates that did well in situations that they were not supposed to do well in. Having a good offense when you an elite QB is easy. Also I am hesitant to get a guy from a team that has an elite offensive mind as head coach. Who is really doing the good work there. Klint Kubiak is my ideal candidate but he won’t interview. Udinski checks the most boxes but his HC is the offensive mind that qualified for this last year. Did Udinski or Coen make the Jags good. I don’t know. Minter fits but I’m not convinced a defensive mind will solve any of the problems.

28. It took the Browns 16 days to officially hire Kevin. They fired Kevin on January 5th. it has been 16 days since.

29. I'm a proponent of hiring a coach with previous NFL head-coaching experience. Given his history with the Lions, this would mark Jim Schwartz's second stint leading a team.

33. What about the Rooney rule? McDaniel was to be one of our 2 minority interviews with Scheelhasse being the other. I don't know the details but apparently you can go against the Rooney rule and pay a fine. Looking like Browns might have to do that since they don't have but 1 minority candidate on the list and can't interview him until next Monday at the earliest.

Why is the media not calling out Andrew he’s turned this search into an absolute clown show you couldn’t handle this worse.He hasn’t even fulfilled the Rooney Rule yet so when McDaniels walked out now he’s making this look really bad he’s got to find a minority candidate that’s obviously nothing more than a token clown to fulfill this stupid rule.I knew from the beginning he should have brought in a black guy earlier in the process to get that out of the way somewhat then he would only have to interview one more now.Haslim should fire him now.

36. Yes the Browns know what they are doing the best coach in the cycle wouldn’t even talk to them the second best coach they fired and he’s going to Atlanta.

37. I don't think McDaniel was ever really seriously considered, and it's not like a ton of other teams were banging down his door as an HC candidate. I think it's more that he would have helped satisfied the Rooney rule, imo.

39. Let's be real. They're not going to hire anyone worthwhile. They'll hire a yuppie they can fist and play puppeteer with. Nothing less
