Duce Staley, the former RB with Eagles under Andy Reid, was let go with the rest of the Cleveland Browns staff when Stefanski was fired. He started his coaching career under Reid before the latter was let go.

He’s been RB coach and assistant HC with the Browns, and with Lions under Dan Campbell. So he worked with Chad O’Shea there.

Falcons have hired Stefanski and now his OC, Tommy Rees, in Atlanta.

Staley was on the Lions staff with Ben Johnson for two years.

I would have to think that Staley has several options of where to go. He had a very successful career under Reid. You have to think the Chiefs are vying for his services as a RB coach. He’d be a nice addition jn revamping that run game with Bieniemy.

Staley played five years for Reid, which included two of his three 1,000 yard rushing seasons.

I hope Clark Hunt has stopped being one of the cheapest owners when it comes to paying the assistant coaches, and gives Reid an open checkbook in filling out his staff with the top people.

  1. I think your last sentence is just wrong. I don’t think it has anything to do with “the check book”. The check book was opened the day he hired Andy. Andy just hires the guys he knows/wants.

I have no idea if he’s a good coach or not, but I just want change.

  2. Wait? An accomplished NFL RB as a, and hear me out here, A RB COACH?! You can do that?! I thought it was required to find marginally talented WRs to coach them!

  3. I think this sudden resurgence towards RB focused coaching tells me Andy is expecting Mahomes wont be ready till probably later into the 1st qtr of the 2026 season and will need to lean heavily on the run game.
If we see a 1st or 2nd rnd RB selection in the draft its practically guaranteed

  4. Eric Bienemy is the Chiefs running back coach*.  I guess it doesn’t hurt to have two of them.  They could use all the coaching they can get.

    * I know his title is offensive coordinator, but that’s not his job.  Andy Reid is the team’s offensive coordinator (and head coach).
