All the hulls are fired up hey Nick ? 😅
Stop talking so fast….slooowwww down
Jays have enough league average players.
Bellinger wasnt theirs. ever
We don’t need just below avg hitters we have Davis Schneider if we want another below avg hitter
The Jays already have an overcrowded outfield, this makes no sense at all. If anything , the Jays could use a LH reliever in the bullpen.
Jays need to trade for SP or a big bat.
Bieber, recovering from injury. Will he last the whole season?
Yesavage, will the league adjust to his delivery?
Berrios, will he bounce back?
Love ur content and all Nick…but past few rumors have been just hot air . All these insiders putting Jays as favorites to land either Tucker, Bichette, Bregman to lesser extent have all been wrong. Atkins had a chance to add WITHOUT needing to trade assets. We dont even have a good farm system to trade from. We're still building our farm system. We were lucky that Cease told Boras to negotiate a contract with us. Who knows we could've missed out on him. But we lucked out . So as a jays fan, I'm not believing anything until I hear Passan confirm anything ( no offense to you Nick)
Pass on Donovan. .280 with limited power is a nice get for a small return, but no need to overpay.
I like him, his character but we don’t need this
Donovan isn't the player we need. We need a big bat and this off-season has quickly crashed after a huge takeoff. Frankly, we overspent on a perennial underachiever in Dylan Cease when we could have had him for less and saved some of that money on Kyle Tucker. Cease has never shown a level that merits an AAV higher than that of Max Fried. You spend that kind of money on an established player, not a 30-year-old still in need of development to reduce high pitch counts.
Problem here this is all options and pure speculation by reporters. Let's focus on our strengths and internal development
Just a heads-up, Nick: you say his name "HI-yum" (that's as close as I can get to a phonetic spelling).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFY3_0ebjnE <– here's someone pronouncing it.
Yanks have now passed us in projected WAR Jays should still be looking to improve.
As far as Bo is concerned, it can be about both the money and winning. He didn't just sign with any old team to get his bag…he signed with a team that has done quite a bit themselves to upgrade in the offseason and may not be done yet. It has similar holes to the Jays (specifically, the lack of a closer), but look at the offseason that they've had. They traded for Semien. They signed Polanco and Bo. They traded for Peralta. They traded for Luis Robert Jr., which could be one of those "bounce back with a change of scenery" deals. That's a pretty good offseason for a team that really only missed the playoffs because it underachieved.
Yes, he got paid, but he went to a team that is probably going to be neck and neck with the Phillies for the NL East. I don't have any issue with him doing that. It's his right as a free agent. If he feels that the Mets have a better shot at going on a long postseason run than the Jays do, he probably has a point.
I’d rather keep and play Lukes. No need for another left handed hitting with Lukes, Varsho and Barger all able to play in the outfield not to mention Loperfido. Wait and if there is regression you go out at the trade deadline and add. If there’s a trade to be made I’d add to the bullpen.
Our lineup is good to start the season, wait till July to fill any holes we have then. Make the trade with the Padres for Miller, it will cost some prospects but worth it
Atkins does like dealing with St. Louis, so wouldn't be a shock if something gets done.
get Eugenio
Bo’s comments did annoy me, but he’s not media savvy and I assume he was just nervous. I hope he has a good year with the Mets.
At least with vlad it wasnt about the money. 500m. 325m signing bonus to avoid canadian tax. Its always about the money. Jays had no interesting in extending bo or as a free agent and never made him an offer. Of course he left. I wish him success and good health. Hes an awesome hitter.
Nootbaar (Japanese mother) played for Japan in the World Baseball Classic in 2023 and won it with Okamoto
Jo Jo Romero is in STL too. A lefty pen arm.
The good thing about STL is that they fit the profile for a team that could use; and have a clear path for Loperfido – who has one option left.
A fringe contender may ask for Barger, who is less expendable without a guy like Tucker. (But also down to one option)
We could potentially plug multiple holes in a trade with the Cardinals.
I would go after Donovan
ADD a pitcher into it I would do it
