Dan Campbell Appreciation Post. Stop all that hating

It’s not hate. It’s frustration
That’s my head coach!
Well atleast we got the first Brad/Dan appreciation post of the day out of the way.
Seriously, as a lifelong fan he’s easily the best thing to happen to this team in decades. Hate the amount of ppl trashing him.
I love Dan, I trust him to lead the team on game day, I trust him to make decisions during the season for the betterment of the team. I do have skepticism on his coaching hires after 2/3 bad OC’s. I was also concerned last year when we promoted Shep and chose morton. It felt incredibly unlikely to have the best candidate for both jobs being someone that was here and it was insane that we didnt look more outside the organization.
To his credit, he did look mostly outside for this hire and did learn from that at the very least. I can even see why he hired Petzing even more so than Lynn or Morton. But when it already wasnt a hot name, they have to show he was right.
Also, as reactionary as lions fans and detroit fans are in general, if someone the fans thinks is bad turns out to be really good they will be overtly positive.
3-13-1 to the NFC Championship in 2 years. 15-2 the following year. We just went 9-8 and people want this dude fired 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It’s the nature of sports subs on Reddit and Reddit in general. All the same; owners are cheap, managers, coaches, GM’s are terrible and need to be fired, players suck. It’s children who don’t get what they want, when they want, and have a level of self-importance that they always know more than the team. They will never be satisfied. They just like being miserable and this sub and Reddit is their comfort zone because misery loves company. It’s just a sports team, nothing more. It’s entertainment, if you don’t like it, don’t follow the team. Yes, you have a right to complain all you want but nothing will change because of it, if you don’t believe that it’s a much bigger personal issue.
We are on a 4 winning season run, with two playoffs appearances, a #1 seed, and a NFCCG appearance.
This season is a let down compared to last season. But even the best teams have limits. But even in a down year it was a continuation of performance that we have only just started to get used to.
I remember the last 30 years well. I can’t believe how people are reacting.
All Praise Dan.
Seriously though, Lions fans are really getting a bad reputation from all the doomers shitting themselves every time the team doesn’t score 50+, win the division, or land the top draft prospects.
I’ve been around long enough to see some of the worst moments in this franchise’s history and NONE of those moments happened during the Campbell era.
Anyone saying this team is cooked is out of their mind and doesn’t understand what they’re talking about. DC and BH are exactly who I want heading this team right now and I, for one, am excited to see what the team can do next season. Call me crazy, I just call it being a fan.
Best thing to happen to the Lions since Barry!
I personally hit rock bottom in the beginning of the 2023 season and seeing this team be as good as it was and Dan’s infectious energy helped me going week in and week out. I’ll never forget what he did to this team in such a short time.
MCDC!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 MCDC!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
He turned the team around and gave us the best two years since the 1950s. But I’m not so sure he hasnt peaked. He continues to make the same coaching mistakes in game management and has not been able to field a competent defense in five years. I will always appreciate what he did for this team, but if the Lions regress again next year it’s time to move on from him and Holmes.
Love Dan hope they get back to superbowl level because this last year was a major swing and a miss
Everyone acting like the best coach in any of our lifetimes is suddenly bad because of one 9-8 season: your names are already in The Grudge Book

I’m a little weird by nature, but I kinda like the hate. I think that hate can be fuel. I don’t think DC is sitting in Reddit watching this shit in real time, but I guarantee they have an idea of the fan temperature when it comes to how they run their ship. I think that can be extra motivation for an organization that runs a very motivative operation. I say, “hate away!!!!” but some of these folks in the organization like keeping receipts 🙂
What I’ve learned of this fanbase is that many Lions fans just never use context or nuance when discussing the team, or they willfully ignore it or move the goalposts.
Mcdaniel’s offense was terrible this year? Blame the team being bad. Apply the same logic to Petzing? Impossible.
Guys I am so pumped about this team. I just really hope our coaches and coordinators do right by the talent they have next season.
And also I hope our strength and conditioning guys figure it tf out
There again, he’s the best coach we’ve ever had
MCDC is a miracle worker. If the Lions are struggling, he is the **last** person I will blame.
This coaching shuffle year really puts into perspective how sad I would be if Dan ever left/got fired and then went to coach another team. I have always been a lions fan but I have never cared about the lions like I have since Dan Campbell came to town. He is the Spirit of Detroit personified
