  1. If you look at WAR (which I know this podcast doesn't love) the starting pitcher's performance was worse last year than what is projected by Zips. I agree with Sam's take that the pitching will be fine. It won't wow you every night, but they are steady and will give the offense a chance more often than not to win.

  2. I’m old school, don’t care a whole heck a lot about jamming statistics in your face. To me it’s all about how the team gels together and plays as a team. Now that the β€œI” is gone (Tucker) and with the spark that Alex Bregman has talked about, give me players that want to be there instead of laying down for a year, I am getting excited to see a lot of good games this year. Go Cubs Go! πŸ»πŸ’™πŸ§’

  3. Wait! Did they get a new manager and owner??? No? Then they will be fortunate to win 80 or more games, I'm still going with 79 wins. My new team, the A's, will easily win more games than the Cubs.

  4. Not an exciting rotation??? Lol Dan is an absolute dipshit

Horton – ROTY 2nd place potential Ace
Cabrera – potential Ace traded for
Steele – former Ace coming back from injury
Boyd – pitched like an Ace for 5 months in 25'
    Shota – Ace in 2024

Ppl doubting this rotation are STRIKEOUT WHORES

  5. Keys : PCA needs to be that stud he was in 1st half of the season. PCA needs to figure out how to be patient at the plate, wait for he’s pitch . Not be going for HR every AB.
Shota has to either be healthy going deep into the season or put him in as short relief. Does he have enough gas in his arm , I hope he does.
Maybe go with 6th man rotation give Shota & Boyd a rest going down the stretch of the season.

  6. the problem i have is all the moves made were just to replace stuff that they lost or were too cheap to sign. Not resigning Brad Keller after doing the work to develop him into something better is absolutely stupid. Does anyone think Phil Maton is gonna have a better season than Keller? Doubt it. He is more likely to be Alex Pressly 2.0. Millner will likely be worse than Pomeramz. Hunter Harvey is never healthy.

So really the only actual upgrade is Cabrera……and his arm is a time bomb.

Bregman isnt better than Tuckerr so thats a wash at best.

And all of it comes at the cost of young players you are gonna wish you kept after this season.

  7. If the Cubs ago after Zac Galen and land him, who do we move from the starting lineup? Would it be Horton or Boyd? Would JaMo with his early inconsistencies be the one on the block, I don't see Shota or Steele being dropped, but I could see Shota being trade bait since he is on his last year of his contract
