Robinson was the Rams’ passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach when the team claimed Baker Mayfield in 2022 and was instrumental in teaching the team’s entire offense to Mayfield in just 48 hours, leading to a dramatic Rams victory. Given his previous experience with Mayfield, his hire closely follows the 2024 Liam Coen hire as Bucs OC, since Coen was also a part of that Rams staff.

Robinson visited with Bucs head coach Todd Bowles and general manager Jason Licht in Tampa Wednesday, an interview that went into the night. The Bucs are finalizing a deal to make him their offensive coordinator, replacing Josh Grizzard who was fired after only one season. 1. I think so. Wasn’t it down to Robinson & Coen in 2024? Personally I am not worried about the offense. Its the defense that needs all the work.

  2. 😂😂😂 falcons fan here, yall are crazy if you think zac robinson is a good OC

  3. Bucs: Hello bitter divisional rival, can we hire your offensive coach to help us beat you?

Falcons: Oh yes please take him

Bucs: wow he must be awesome and that’s why they’re so eager to send him to us, their bitter divisional opponent.

  4. Sunshine pumping at an all time high in here today with some of yall. This dude stinks, at least Bowles will be fired

  5. There is much less difference between Coen>Grizzard>Robinson than many people think. The difference primarily has been injury luck at key positions, or in Grizzard’s case, total injuries. I logged plays and drive success. Coen’s playcalling and Grizzard’s playcalling were very, very similar. The difference was results, as the injured personnel could not transcend the playcalling under Grizzard that they more often did under Coen.

TB’s offense has worked under Canales through Grizzard based on the overachievement of playmakers and the QB. When that is absent the offense has suffered. There is a reason that Coen required a league best 3rd down offense, and even this season Mayfield was the most efficient third down scrambler.

People forget how the offense stalled when Evans was out, Godwin was out… under COEN, as well.

Correlate injury report to offensive performance, especially at the QB position, and you’ll see where the offense worked and where it didn’t…across the last three seasons.

Grizzard is gone, and I’m glad, but the NFL is about “players not plays” and as regards TB, offense and defense, we can see this is true.

  6. Curious if he lobbies Licht to bring in Pitts as a free agent. Otten was pretty rough this year and Pitts had a really good year.
