Kingsbury in the list now, I like as a fall back plan for daboll
Every remaining big name OC wants to work for the Titans. Gonna be an interesting process.
No Nagy!!
I’d like Kliff for the QB development. Daboll would be nice but I see him getting another HC gig instead
great list
Slowik would be a good choice…turns out the regression of Stroud wasn’t his fault.
I don’t hate Arthur Smith 🤷🏻♂️
Great list. Sucks we’ll probably have to wait a week or two for Daboll’s HC chances, but these names being linked to us is a really good sign.
Shit. I like all of em.
Really this entire list would be great. Stenavich not having play calling duties would make me more nervous though
Slowik has to be a really fascinating one because how much of his fall off was Stroud related Vs him?
Looks like all the OC options fall into two main camps, either heavily run-pass option focused (Daboll, Kingsbury, Nagy) or heavily play-action focused (Smith, Slowik, Stenavich). Will be very interesting to see who they choose
Kingsbury is a disaster. Anyone but him.
Kingsbury is the clear next choice behind Daboll and its not even close imo. He has a much stronger pedigree and more experience with young QBs and I think thats highly valuable and what the FO is looking for. If not my next option is Slowik, I just dont want Smith back, or Stenavich.
I can’t believe there’s people who hate the idea of Arthur Smith coming back. The same dude who gave the highest scoring offense in team history.
He was working with a dysfunctional Falcons team, and the corpse of Aaron Rodgers. He’s still a decent hire in my book. His father recently passed away, so I’m sure he wouldn’t mind being closer to home either.
Slowick and Daboll are interesting to me.
Kingsbury doesn’t seem to have any staying power and Smith only succeeded with Henry, Tannehill and AJ Brown.
This might have been a bad year to be looking for a new head coach but might be the best year ever for finding a new OC
Titans do need to move quick/aggressively. Daboll could go to the Bills, and Kliff could go to Ravens with Minter at HC (rumor). That takes it from your top candidates to the 3rd/4th guys on their list.
Arthur Smith had The Titans offense ranked #1 once upon a time !
I would be happy with any of those choices.
Unpopular opinion: I’d prefer we bypass Daboll and Kliff.
Both like to use their QBs legs way too much. That has led to a lot of injuries to their starting QBs.
Cam isn’t a runner and just hurt his shoulder on a designed run.
I’d prefer going after Art or Slowik.
Ever since I read Kliff’s teams start hot then fall off a cliff (since Texas Tech) I haven’t been able to shake that thought every time he is mentioned.
Arthur was only frustrating because it felt like every game we had to wait till there was a big play before we started scoring, relying on the D to keep us in the game. That and TE usage (insert Fantasy Football memes here).
Fuck Arthur Smith dude would not use his best offensive weapon at Atlanta. There is no world where Bijan only gets ten carries a game. If it wasn’t for Riddler being a check down king he would have never got used.
Daboll is gonna get locked up by this weekend in buffalo.
Bring in Kliff for OC, and then steal Vikings QB Coach, Josh McCown, by giving him a title promotion to Assistant OC; that way we have a promising young offensive mind to replace Kliff whenever he either gets a HC job because it worked out here, or is fired because it didn’t
As I think about the offensive schemes, Art’s does feel like a great fit for Cam, deep play action shots over the middle of the field, solid to great run game, Ward was also a similar runner to Tannehill in that it’s a bonus but not the focus of their games. And the scheme only needs 2 WRs to function optimally though it benefits from key role players.
I do not think the scheme is a good fit for Gunnar Helm though, because Smith likes to have YAC TEs more than utilized traditional Y types.
I honestly just want our OC to have the right mentality that our HC and Special Teams Coach “Bones” have because that is the mentality the cornerstone players of our franchise are coming with to every rep and practice. Need someone that is all about Grit, Hustle and the Grind. I know pedigree matters as well, but the mentality in my opinion is the main thing that a Coach needs to embody to get the players and fans behind him.
