Stu is a living legend. He’s approaching 80, with almost 40 years as the iconic Lakers color commentator. His late and great peer Chick did 41 years as play-by-play announcer. It’s only fitting that he gets the recognition and a statue alongside his broadcasting mate’s statue. He should be among the other Laker legends etched in stone on Star Plaza and 11th Street, spoken in the same breath as Chick Hearn and Vin Scully of LA broadcaster legends.

While we're at it, rename LA Live Way to Stu Lantz Street… it's just so right that the lively street be renamed to the man that brought a lot of color and liveliness to the broadcasts to compliment Chick's traditional style, and that the street intersects with Chick Hearn Ct. They can do something extra special for that intersection.

Get this man the flowers, recognition, appreciation and respect while he’s still alive to acknowledge that.

  1. I fucking love their commentator! Sometimes when I stream games I accidentally get the other teams commentator’s and their fucking terrible. We are spoiled as fuck in so many ways

  2. I love that he’s not afraid to call out the team. Zero Bias from the guy sometimes people think he goes too hard on the team

  3. You know when I see Stu on tv or social not broadcasting games you can sometimes sense his age which is totally normal at 80 years old

However during broadcasts and pregames he is as sharp as ever he just locks in and is the same Stu we’ve had the privilege to listen to for 40 years

  4. I can’t argue with that. He’s my Voice of the Lakers cause I had chick only for 6/7 years.

  5. He and Bill are very unbiased in their broadcasts. They never shy away from pointing out our mistakes and never afraid to give the other team their props when they deserve it.

  6. We have been blessed to have the best commentators. My dad struggles with English and even to him, Stu is absolutely iconic. He feels the difference when we have to listen to the other announcer teams.

We will be crushed when we no longer get to listen to him
