dear god no. they fucked up it should be the play by play for one team, and the color by the other team. it was so much more enjoyable when they did the sunday morning broadcasts like that and you got difference of opinions
Y’all see these TVs that can now mute commentators during sports broadcasts? Perfect fucking timing.
I miss the old Sunday Night games on ESPN with Jon Miller. Costas stinks!
Oh man, the caption of this post starts out similarly to a death announcement…
Happy to hear he’s not only alive but gainfully employed.
Gotta freshen things up with new life, bring in 73 year old Costas!
I love his appearance on the TV show Monk.
Al Michaels is going to complain about youngsters taking these jobs…
Look I used to enjoy him on the nba on nbc 30 years ago but he’s so out of touch with modern baseball – MLB’s broadcast partners seem so bent on complaining about the sport they’re paying to air.
Nobody wants this.
Can’t believe he’s only 73
What is it about that generation that dudes can’t just enjoy retirement.
Personally I love hearing Bob Costas talking about baseball, and I think he is a great fit for a studio show in his 70s. He is still mentally there, has a lot of good thoughts to knowledge about the game, etc. I don’t think he was good at play by play anymore in recent years since you need to be faster on your feet. But when he is in the studio when he was discussing the HOF inductees a couple days ago, it was great. He broke down Andruw Jones defense to his best offensive years, Beltran’s career, etc.
I am happy with this decision. I am really curious who will be NBC’s play by play commentators since they will have two games on Sunday with Morning Leadoff to SNB. Sadly Jason Benetti is exclusive to Fox Nowadays unlike a few years ago when he hosted the morning leadoff on Peacock. I think he is great, and I wish he had more national games over a Fox regional game right now. Kenny Albert is doing NBC Olympics hockey, so he might be able to get a role. I think he is a solid play by play announcer for baseball. Otherwise, I don’t know who NBC is going to tap.
This sanctimonious nerd hates the modern game, why do they insist on this?!
I wish they’d bring back This Week in Baseball..
But then again, without Mel Allen, it wouldn’t be the same
I swear networks would rather use holograms of dead baseball announcers instead of bringing new talent in

What does his age have to do with anything? Either he’s good for current times or he’s not.
Are you folks ready to hear about Mickey Mantle? Because you’re going to hear about Mickey Mantle
What’s his age got to do with it? If he does a good show then why does it even matter in the slightest?

Sorry I just can’t stop thinking about Costas without that tweet
I had to double check to see if this was a circlejerk sub.
