CBJ have activated forward Mason Marchment off Injured Reserve and placed defenseman Denton Mateychuk on Injured Reserve retroactive to Jan. 11.

    Sucks on Matey, but I agree with Sloane. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing and could be activated at any time, this is just roster management

  3. I saw Mateychuk skate up and back at Ice Haus a few days ago. No idea if he was at peak, but it looked effortless. Wood and a coach were with him.

For those who probably are not aware Mateychuk has the shits and they are using the injury from the other week to put him on the IR so they don’t have to expose ZAR to waivers right now (they probably keep Gaunce as there a fair chance he could be claimed) until he clears up from his illness. He can be activated at anytime it’s just roster shenanigans
