Can’t we have one dude in his 40s and is content with having a Top 5 defense year-in and year-out, and he stays for the next 30 years? Is that too much to ask?

Respect for him keeping his word to the Niners to only DC here even with offers to DC other teams. I hope every AFC Championship for the next 5+ years is him, DeMeco, or Harbaugh/McDaniel teams and they win each win the Super Bowl unless it’s against the Niners.
I have a feeling he won’t be back anymore and this is the last we’ve seen of him here in SF. :/
Idk I’m kinda pissed at him. While he did a great job here, coming back to use us as a placeholder and guarantee us more instability at DC is kinda a dick move.
The niners are the girl that loves him unconditionally. He left us for another girl and realized the grass isn’t always greener. Then we took him back because we love him, hoping we could convince him to stay with us forever. And then he left us to try to find something better again.
It was pretty cool last year when we able to get so pumped that he was coming back. So even for one season, he brought us some damn much needed happiness.

He was definitely going to leave when he realized that Tennessee job became available. He has a secret beef with the Jaguars coach because he wanted that head coach job but they chose Liam Coen. He saw that defense over there and he wanted that position. He feels that he can get at him now in Tennessee by playing the Jaguars twice a year or even in the playoffs if they make it. When Salem saw the 49ers schedule and saw that we were playing Jacksonville this year, it was not doubt that he was coming back to be defensive coordinator. That’s why he took that game personally. The truth came out. Yes, he did an awesome job with what he had, but he used the opportunity with us to be an head coach again. He was never going to stay with the 9ers.
Shanahan’s coaching tree is just getting bigger with each passing season. Good for the OCs and DCs for moving up to head coach jobs, but I really wish we had a season with him and a healthy team.
Too, I admire Saleh for having a lot of fight in him to go to Tennessee and start a hated rivalry between him and the Jaguars. I love it. A real hated division rivalry like the Bears and Packers. Hell, Shanahan needs some fight in him enough to start a division rivalry with the Seahawks. Haven’t they kicked our butts enough when Russell Wilson was there. Kyle needs to grow some balls. Maybe then, he will not tolerate losing to the Seahawks ever again. He doesn’t take enough division losses personally.
I’m starting to get abandonment issues.
He will be missed. Did an amazing job with a patched lineup for most of the season. The next DC has some big shoes to fill (again)
So who is on the hot list for a replacement? Morris? Ulbrich? Just throwing those out there…what yall got?
