[MLB] Mets acquire Vidal Bruján from Twins for Cash Considerations

  1. Strange move. I can’t imagine he makes the team and needs to go thru waivers. Maybe they know no one will claim him?

  2. I was just saying what the Mets still needed was another versatile middle infielder who’s not quite a shortstop! You know, someone best suited for 2B who can bounce around all over the diamond.

Glad this urgent need was finally addressed.

  3. Seems like Baty’s position is getting more tenuous unless he can play left field.

  4. At most he’s an injury-hedge depth to bring to camp if a bunch of infielders go down, and likely to accept assignment if he’s DFA’ed due to the nature of his split contract. He’s unlikely (although not impossible) to get picked up on waivers so most likely he ends up in Syracuse and not on the 40 man roster. I doubt we paid more than some trivial cash for him. Bit of non-news.

  5. He was 45th on the 2020 top prospects list. Time flies, I remember when people were excited about this kid.
